    and then try:

STEP 1 - Check for CD’s or DVD’s inserted in the media drives
The first thing to check is to make sure you do not have a CD or DVD inserted into one of the media drives at the same time that you insert the U3 device.

    STEP 2 - Disable devices
Try to remove or disable all devices except for your hard drive, monitor, keyboard, and mouse and see if the problem persists. Even disable the printer if it has a memory card reader installed on it. If that allows you to run the Launchpad, one of these devices probably is using software that is probing the CD-ROM partition of your smart drive, not finding what it expects to find, and behaving badly in the aftermath.

STEP 3 - Check if there’s software conflict
Please check our Software Compatibility article for more specifics on applications known to produce this behavior.

    Also, check our Troubleshooting steps.

Try a different USB device on each of the USB ports on your computer.
Hopefully, all your USB ports are working correctly.

Try a different USB port on your computer.
Hopefully, the SanDisk will be detected on one of the ports.

Try a USB port on a different computer.
If the SanDisk still is not detected, then spend $10 to buy a new 4GB flash-drive.

How to use flash drive

Cruzer Micro is an USB external memory where you can store files.
It is automatically detected and installed on all Windows OS from Windows 2000 onward, same on Mac OS and recent Linux versions.
All you have to do is plugging the device into USB.
After the flash drive had been automatically installed , it will be displayed under Computer as an external disk.
You can copy and transfer files using Cut, Copy and Paste functions, or Send to function in windows, or the file manager, depending on the OS used.
In Windows, before unplugging the memory from USB , it is better to turn off the computer or use the 'safely remove USB' function located near to the clock, on the lower right hand corner.

Sandisk Cruzer Micro 2.0 problem

Should show up in "My Computer" as a removable drive with letter designator. Then it is simply a matter of drag and drop to copy files using the mouse. If XP doesn't recognize the drive, put it in another USB port, and or try it on another computer. If it doesn't show up then, take it back to the store.
