Unplug power, look down on printhead some have a chrome metal clamp that swings out and then you pull up on print head. Some models have two screws that hold print head in. Then the print head pulls up.
The Okidata Microline 320 uses a ribbon. If it smears, just back the tension lever off until it goes away. Smearing will happen with multi-part forms unless you back off the printhead.
Menu Light flashing is a printhead thermister overheat problem.
Power off the printer and try reseating the print head; if this fails you'll need to replace the print head!
The problem your having is a spacer motor. It's located under the carriage that holds the ribbon/printhead. The part number is 56513701. Available at Seattle Platen - Dale 1800-221-2388.

Your printhead is in correctly but not aligned, Please loosen the 2 screws that holds the printhead.Remove ribbon(all this while the printer is powered off) Now look on the right side there is a lever that makes the printer go closer to the ribbon ,move the lever to number 9 and move the head over to the left side of the printer.push the head forward slightly towards the black roller and tighten the 2 screws again ,install the ribbon and move the blue lever to 1 and try printing again.

Sounds like driver problems. Cant solve problems without details like what opperating system, what driver, how it the printer attached, usb, paralel, network? Will it print a test page from the driver ok?
