Re: dvd will not play
Hi there. If i understand correctly, you do have the official microsoft DVD dongle and remote ?
If so, you might wanna see if the remote is defective. Do you have a camcorder at home ? There is a trick to see if a remote sends it's infrared signals. Put the camcorder on, in a dark room, and put the IR transmitter on the top of the remote in front of the camera. You'll see the IR remote transmitter blinking if you press some buttons. Human eyes can't see it, but the camera does!
Try it with another remote that you're sure that works, you'll see. If the microsoft xbox remote doesn't do anything, check batteries, else it's proably defect.
If you like to tinker a bit with things, you might wanna open it up to check if there's any cold solder point on it (a broken connection), but you need soldering skills to do so. Else, you'll need a new remote. Hope that helps ! cheebster.
Hi there ! Well, it seems narrowed down to the remote ! Check batteries and try to clean the board inside of it with alcohol (make sure it's dried out before using after, tho!). Else, you'd need a new one :( Check ebay, clones are dirt cheap ! 10$ or so.

Make sure the batteries in the remote are working (they go in the back of the remote at the bottom).
Turn on the DVD player with the power button on the DP300 itself (lower left). Open the dvd tray either with the remote (press open/close button, upper right) or with the button on the DP300. Put a DVD in the tray and close it with the remote or the button on the DP300. The DVD should load.
Use the arrow buttons in the centre of the remote to select choices from the onscreen menu of the DVD. Press Play (centre of the 4 arrow buttons) to activate the choice you want. For example, if you want to play a movie, use the arrow buttons to go up or down until "play movie" is selected, then hit PLAY, and movie will play. If you want to choose a scene/chapter of the movie, use arrow buttons to go up or down until Scene Selection or Chapter is selected (highlighted), and press PLAY. This should bring up a list of the scenes or chapters. Use the arrow buttons to select the one you want, then hit PLAY, and that scene should play.
If the DVD tray is taking less than 20 seconds to operate, there is likely no problem. If it is taking more, there may be. I think the mechanism that opens and closes the tray is often the first thing to stop working on DVD and CD players.
If you are experiencing display issues (dim, blank or half-blank screen, ghosted image, etc.) with a Virtual Console game while using the Component Video Cable, please read the following:
Some Virtual Console games default to displaying 240 lines of video. Some HD TV's are unable to display a signal with only 240 lines. Try the steps below to set the Wii to output 480 lines of video, which may solve the problem:
While on the Wii Channel Menu (main screen of the Wii), connect a Nunchuk to Wii Remote.
Select the Virtual Console game from the Wii menu, then select "Start" to begin the game.
When the game starts, press the Home button on the Wii Remote. (In many games, the music can be heard when the game starts.)
Select "Operations Manual" from the Home menu.
Press the Z + A + 2 Button simultaneously (the Z Button is on the Nunchuk). A sound will be heard if the button combination has been entered correctly.
Close the Home menu. The game should now display correctly. Note: You will not have to do this the next time you play, as the Wii console will remember these settings.
If the Virtual Console game is still not displaying properly, but all other games work fine, please call 1-800-255-3700 so that we may assist you further.
1.While the previews are playing, press the Menu Button on your DVD player remote to access the DVD's Main Menu. 2.Go to Scene Selection and press your Enter or Ok button on your DVD player remote. 3.Highlight Scene 2 and press the Enter or Ok button. This will start the DVD in Scene 2. 4.Use your rewind or reverse button on your DVD player remote to rewind back to the beginning of Scene 1.

Try selecting fewer codes and letting the game boot. Too many codes at once overtaxes the cpu. When this happens, you can get many results, Action Replay freezing, game not loading, or glitched game.
I am having the exact same problem, however I have the official remote that goes with the TV. Have you found a solution to this yet? perhaps its a problem with the TV rather than the remote?
1.You Should Try to clean your disks
2.put one in and go to games or videos depending on what u r doing and if your ps3 detects there is a game in there press triangle on the disk icon and select play
3.if that didnt work go to http://www.Playstaton.com/Support
Hope it Helped!
The Playstation (R) 3 has most likely been patched. I find it knocks back not only Action Replay but XPLODER also (The EU version of Gameshark) both for PS2 it is likely that SONY has blocked it out to stop consumers playing region locked dvd movies. So if you in UK you can only play Region 2 PAL dvd's, if you in the us, you can only play Region 1 NTSC dvds. If in AUS, you can only play Region 4 Dvd Disc....etc.... AR Max had a feature to bypass this problem, thus why sony has probably patched against it. As for a solution I am also searching for one, truth be told, I don't think there is one.
You should boot up your codes on your PS2, then the game.
Save your game.
Then copy your save game to your PS3.
You are trying to play dvd's? Then you will need the remote sensor plugged in to the box before it plays movies. IT's called a xbox dvd movie playback kit. Part # x08-25387
