Question about Sony RDR-GX300 DVD Recorder

Green screen on a LCD T.V.

I have just bought a Sony Bravia KDL26U2000 LCD T.V. I`ve connected it up to my Sony RDR-GX300 DVD Recorder with smartlink. The problem is when I change channel on the DVD Recorder to L1 to record from the T.V the screen on the T.V starts turning cloudy green and the picture seems to fade off into the distance. I don`t think I`m doing anything wrong as I`ve followed the instruction booklet to the letter. I don`t know if this is normal behaviour or if there is a fault somewhere. I hope someone can help.

If u can see other programs then the problem will be due to the signal fail the cable connecting may be faulty and it is very rare for a new player u check it with a new cable and change the pal and ntsc it may also make the picture correct

1) pass the Disk cleaner buy to some radio schack, and test it
2) test the cable in another device, and determine if faulty or not.
3) if not clean the terminal from DVD VS TV with c.cleaner
4) otherwise the Syscom inside and another associates circuit is faulty such like record ampl.
go to the repair shop for fix it.

either a dirty optical pickup or a a bad optical pickup in the unit=pretty much has to be one or the other

When I burn a DVD (R- or R+) on a Sony RDR-GX300 it burns the DVD which plays on that unit only. If I try to play the DVD burned on Sony RDR-GX300 on any other brand or any other Sony DVD player or even on...

On That Type Of DVD Recorder,( RW,R-R+). You Will Have To Finalize The Disk. Finalizing is Necessary When Playing On Any Equipment Other Than This Recorder.Even IF Your Other DVD Equipment IS ( VR ) Format Compatible You Still Need To Finalize The Disk. After Finalizing,You Cannot Edit or Record on The Disk,Make Sure It's In Video Mode.

How to replace the disk drive of Sony GX300 DVD

Just guessing but I suspect Sony wrote customer firmware for the drive. Best bet is to try and get a Sony drive.

No, it is built in.However, AnyDVD software can correct that on a PC, and you can create a new copy from the original.
