Not sure what the problem is but I have a green line sagging down from the top of the screen and I can't get the x's to converge completely. When I set it to do perfect picture it only makes it to the count of 4 and just flashes without making the convergence. Just wondering what part needs to be replaced? I unplugged tv for 1 hour and it didn't fix the problem. Please help....

There are 2 convergence IC's in the typical projection TV, and one of yours has burned out. If you have green sagging from the top then the convergence IC that handles Green Vertical (GV) needs to be replaced. The Samsung sets typically use the STK392-040 IC's. If you have no experience replacing convergence IC's then let a qualified tech change it for you.
I have the same problem.I am also seeing almost double vision if you might say so.When i try to match the cross up it will not do anything.I know nothing about the tv or even how to work on them any help would be great.

This tv problems it is call a convergence picture problems,it is dead.Tv have any colors lines R,G,B mis alignments, have colors shadows pictures or 3D pictures look alike?Yes,than the tv board that call a convergence board it is dead to causes this problems. The tv convergence board must have be repair like replacing 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all of it resistors too.Fix the tv convergence board to solved the tv convergence picture problems. The tvs shops will cost u like $300-350 for parts and labors.
hello
What you have is a convergence problem.
There is 2 modules inside your set that aligns the colors to have the same geometry and superposed .
It is a common problem in rear projection tvs ,
You don`t have to worry about your blue tube , i`m sure it is perfectly fine, it just needs to be aligned through the convergence circuit.
Most often the problem is with those convergence modules that are faulty and need to be replaced.
Hope this will help good luck
replace the convergence ics again.sounds like you got a bad ic.realigned the green convergence geometry after reinstalling the ics.you will need to go into the techician service menu and go into the cross-hatch pattern to do the alignment.
yeah plenty, on older rear projection t.v.'s the circuit boards tend to over heat as they get older. keep the t.v. off and unplugged. contact a local repair shop.
I believe i have the same problem myself. When my TV is on any of the Component Inputs without my DVD player turned on i usually get the normal green screen. But now that is a dip in the green at the top of the screen from the top left to almost the top right and black pushing down on the dip. Almost like a green curtain was sagging at the top and you can see the black behind it. It does this on every input and distorts every picture you see. The distorted picture has all the green slightly off from where the rest of the picture is and where the dip at the top of the screen is there is somtimes purple instead of black.
I know the basics of how the picture gets onto the screen and its my guess that the Green "gun" for lack of a better term and somhow come loose, or been missaligned to a great extent. I would love to find an answer to this problem, and anyones best guess as to how much a repair man will charge, just so i know the ballpark.
