My unit started beeping and seems to be going into sleep mode (I am not sure what sleep mode does), and I think it must snore by beeping. I have a rental place and this is the unit that was provided without any information about it. The only way that I have made it stop is by turning on the timer(not really sure what it is timing either). Is there an instruction hand book on line. Can you tell me how to stop the beeping
If youre anything like me, you have a mechanical inclination and the desire is bad enough to fix this problemn yet unable to buy another... The way i fixed this infernal beeping & the sleep light cycling on & off everytime is as follows
Disconnect Power...Pull the filter cover & filter off....Locate the 2 screws that hide behind the filter that hold the front panel on & remove them..You should then just have clips on the sides that you can easily pop it out of...You will find that a cluster of wires housed by a black shield runs to the control panel in the part u just removed..There should be 3 screws to remove in order to open the compartment that houses the control board....Remove the screws holding the control board in and remove control board...On that board you will see there are buttons and one of them will say sleep....YOURE ALMOST ON YOUR WAY TO QUIET NIGHTS AGAIN.....VERY CAREFULLY pop the top of that button housing off ( I used a utility knife ) BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL NOT TO TEAR ENTIRE BUTTON OFF OF THE BOARD....once the button top is off you will see a small circular piece of metal that is pushed down when the button is pressed...KNOCK THAT PIECE OF METAL OUT AND VOILA THE BEEPING WILL NOW STOP BECAUSE IT HAS NOTHING TO HIT THE CONTACTS IN ORDER TO FORM THE CIRCUIT.... I am going on 2nd day now noise free & did not have to buy a new unit since mine cooled just fine
HOPE THIS HELPS....If you need further assistance you can email me at [email protected]

I also posted how to pull the metal contact out of the SLEEP button..What happens in these units is that the button goes bad and constantly turns itself on & off...Well as you may notice if you pulled the unit apart following my last post that the SLEEP BUTTON is soldered onto the control board..Well removing the SLEEP BUTTON can be done in a number of ways..You can use a knife & CAREFULLY PRY BETWEEN THE BOTTOM OF THE BUTTON & THE CONTROL BOARD or you can use a soldering iron to melt the existing solder & use needle nosed pliers to pull the button as your melting the solder... Either way, the rest of the control board will work as long as you do this CAREFULLY and make 100% sure not to melt solder on something else or break anything....I SUGGEST USING A KNIFE TO CUT BUTTON IN HALF BECAUSE MELTING THE SOLDER CAN CAUSE THE OTHER SOLDERED CONNECTIONS TO HEAT UP AND BECOME LOOSE IF YOU DO NOT USE THE SILDERING IRON RIGHT....Once the button is broken, simply grab it & move back & forth until the legs break off of the control board....IF SOMEHOW YOU MAKE THE CONNECTION & ACCIDENTALLY TURN THE SLEEP MODE ON, {NO WORRIES} SIMPLY TAKE THE KNIFE & TOUCH THE CENTER OF WHERE THE BUTTON WAS ON CONTROL BOARD & THE SIDES WHERE THE METAL LEGS CAME UP FROM BOARD TO BUTTON MAKING THE CONNECTION THRU THE KNIFE & DISABLING SLEEP MODE { or use the remote if you have it} If you do this correctly, There will be NO WAY for the sleep mode to be turned off & on like it was doing before unless you pull unit open & do it or use the remote....I FURTHER SUGGEST, if you dont use the remote regularly, take the batteries out of it that way there is no chance of sleep mode being activated and you will once again have BEEPLESS NIGHTS & DAYS
Hey as far as the beeping window unit a/c i found that in some instances pulling the metal contact out of the button on the control board may not work all the time....
If this is the case and you still have a beeping unit follow the steps to pull front panel off and remove control board (the board with the temp display & power buttons) Instead of removing top of the button & metal contact inside, simply pull the entire switch off....This will not affect the rest of the controls, it will however make sleep mode im possible to use unless you use it from the remote...
IF YOU HAVE ANY FURTHER QUESTIONS OR NEED FURTHER ASSISTANCE ON THIS MATTER PLEASE FEEL FREE TO E-MAIL ME AT
[email protected]
I have had to do both steps on this particular unit as i have multiple units like this at work and had to do it on my unit at home & know all the details of it so best of luck to you. If this does not work for you please let me know thru E-MAIL or post a comment on this site....

Choosing from the massive range of anti snoring
devices can be overwhelming. It really depends whether you are dealing with
chronic, mild snoring or other breathing problems. Make sure you get some
medical advice before you spend money.
Take a look at this consumer report which gives a good
overview of some of the many products out there on the market today;
http://www.stopsnoringconsumerreports.com/anti-snoring-devices-which-should-you-choose/
Snoring with your mouth open is the most common way
that people snore. It's usually indicative of a problem with the tissues in the
throat (ie maybe too loose and therefore causing a blockage in the airways).
You can't make somebody close their mouth when they
are sleeping especially if their breathing feels restricted, which is why they
are opening their mouth.

The manual says nothing about the beep beep beep beeping... but thanks for the manual! I think a figured out that the timer times how long a I have till the thing starts beeping again (very useful *sigh*). I really want the beeping to stop or I might push the window unit the rest of the way out the window. The sleep button blinks on and off too... any clues?
argh - stop the beeping....pleeaaasseee!!! Motorla Me4061 cordless phone - hpw annoying
