Hi,

Do you have any funky subnets for your Cisco router? Do not connect the wireless router to your network yet, as it may have the same IP address as your other router.

Basically the easiest way to do this is to set a dedicated IP for the 2Wire router on the Cisoo router. Then make them stay on the same subnet, but give an IP range for your Cisco router, like 1-50 or something. If you give the 2Wire router IP .51 for instance, then give the Wifi users on the 2Wire IP range from .52-75 or something.

Make the 2Wire router only use wifi and not serve DHCP addresses. Then you setup the 2Wire router to get its info from the Cisco router.

I searched and there is no howto out there for doing this with a Cisco router. However, here is one I used to setup a similar scenario with a Netgear router. It worked. If you are able to translate a bit, it might work for you:

Here is another article:
http://kbserver.netgear.com/inquira/default.asp?ui_mode=answer&prior_transaction_id=306896&action_code=5&highlight_info=16777285,246,260&turl=http%3A%2F%2Fkbserver.netgear.com%2Fkb_web_files%2FN101496.asp&answer_id=6056800#__highlight

Let me know if you are able to work through this. You need to give the 2wire router a static IP and you need to NOT use it for wired connections, and not use it to serve DHCP settings.

Connected io router with excelent signal but won't connect to internet , using Beklen adapter , happened overnight.Did work well before.

It sounds as though you are using both a belkin wireless router and the 2wire 2700HG-B Router.
Setting up 2 routers to work together can be tricky and unless there is some specific reason to do so I recommend you just use the 2wire router.

I don't know how to configure my 2wire 2700HG-B wireless, I need to connect my ipod. can someone help me to set them up?

hi there, first is you need to know the wireless settings of the 2wire first, the channel, SSID and the encryption.

once wireless settings are verified then you may try to go to the IPOD, go to settings/wi-fi/ then choose the network there/ try to connect to your network/if it will ask you for a network key, input that as well/ try to connect and you should be connected now.

How do i sync windows vista with my router?

hello!

-- who is your internet service provider
-- what is the operating system of your computer?
-- is this working fine before or is this a brand new router

you may try this and see if this help solve your problem. make sure your computer is directly connected to the router

Step 1: Shutdown the computer.
Step 2: reset the router while power on then Unplug the router’s power cable.
Step 3: Unplug the Broadband modem’s power cable and wait for 30 seconds.
Step 4: Plug in the Broadband modem’s power cable and wait for its lights to appear stable.
Step 5: Plug in the router's power cable once the modem’s lights appear stable.
Step 6: Power on the computer on and configure the router settings
Step 7: test the Internet connection.

if this still didnot work, upgrade the firmware of your router

note:

configuring the router settings will depends who is your provider. if your isp is dsl you need to configure your ISP username and password on the router. if your router is a cable no need to change any settings on the router. it should automatically work

if you are still having trouble configuring your device, try to call supportrix and use supportcall as your promo code for 1 free technical support.

Tring to bridge my 2wire

Why do you need to bridge?

Can't you use both devices off the one router?

usually to bridge you would need, effectively , 2 extra access points to set as the bridges, they then connect to the other routers, allowing communication between the 2.

I do know 2wire is slightly different but you would still need something to act as a bridge on the netgear end.

I still don't understand why you need both routers running. Connect both your computers to the same router which has the internet connection.

Hope this helps

Slow speeds compared to speedtouch 330 usb modem

How do you connect to the 2wire 2700HG? Wireless or ethernet? In any case I suggest to access the mdc (management and diagnostic console) of your 2wire and check the DSL Diagnostics under the Troubleshooting Category. Check the attenuation rate of your 2wire there so you can see if external problems are affecting the 2wire. The 2wire is also a modem\router and eventough it rarely affects the speed of your connection, the 2wire Firewall might also affect the speed of your cx. Another thing to check are the electrical interference on your 2wire. EMI (Electro Magnetic Interference) do affect the 2wire router greatly. I mean it LITERALLY. A great Interference can cut your signal strength from full bars to 1 bar even tough your just 10 feet away from the router. You can also check the Broadband Status on the Network at a Glance Page to check if the speed are jumping in and out. And also try to contact your Internet Service Provider or the 2wire direct technical support (1-877-3478680) for further assistance. God Bless!
