I am thinking surface mount caps on the Hyper board. That should definately be serviced by someone experienced with Toshiba Hyper boards.

Samsung plasma tv has vertical lines

The most cost effective thing to do is just replace the TV. The cost to repair will be close to the cost of a new LED flat screen, they are very cheap now.

Toshiba hyper module. Vertical lines on screen.

change the 10 or so surface mounted bad filter caps in the Hyper module this set uses--the board is no longer available--it can be sent out for rebuild (not toshiba) but that is rather costly (200+)

Vertical band appeared after just 6 weeks for no apparent reason. It shows a side section of the picture in mirror image form and is directly down the centre of the screen

the problem here is the Lcd controler or T-con board. The problem is Toshiba does not alway sell the board seperately you may have to buy the complete LCD panel Call toshiba Tech support or check on their web site for you particular model

Red color convergence on Toshiba 57H81

Often convergence issues do not require the entire board to be replaced. You can resolve it by replacing the convergence ICs. The part in question is STK392-110. You will need two of them and they cost around 10$ each. But replacing them is a pretty complicated procedure and I would not suggest it to someone without prior experience. A service manual should get you started in the right direction if you are planning to do this yourself.
https://www.completeservicemanuals.com/toshiba/crt-projection-television/57h81-service-manual/prod_1128.html

PS
: Disconnect from the power supply before you start the repair. Also read the legend, the hv circuits are denoted by a special symbol, so you will know what you shouldn't touch.

You may also need to replace the nearby resistors that may have popped the IC in the first place. Read the service manual for further details.

Good luck,
Sai.

Vertical blue line not in vocus

It sounds like you lost a convergence amplifier. There is also the possibility that a resistor on the main circuit board that goes to the horizontal control circuit for the blue CRT/deflection yoke may have a cold solder joint. These circuits generate a considerable amount of heat and can weaken solder joints over time. Try bumping the side of the television and see if the blue line changes or if the blue color returns. If so, then it may very well be a cold solder joint that needs to be touched up. This is one of the first things that an electronic tech tests for - sounds crazy but I've fixed literally thousands of televisions this way. Good luck.

Two vertical lines one at 1/3 screen the other at 2/3's of screen

I have not fixed it yet. But I have identified the chip that is causing the problem. If you have a service manual scan it and post it please, so I can show you the chip.
