Can not download songs to the Gpx mp3 player

I am trying to download music to my gpx mp3 player the model is MW6815DT. Previously i had downloaded music to the player with no problem for a total of 2 times. After that I was not able to download anymore music. When I plug in the device into my computer it says that there is not music on the player. and underneath the amount of space it is saying that it is calculating..... I dont know if formatting would make a differance but I did try to format the player again to see if it would stop saying calculating but it didnt. I tried to go online to solve the problem before getting your help but it is asking me to go to my instruction manual but the manual is extremly blurry and the print is verry small therefore not alowing me to be able to read the instructions and fixing the problem my self.

I have the same problem; except the manual tells me to download the driver from www.gpx.com, but there is not any help or drivers to download for the product.

I have an GPX MW1388 MP3 audio player I cant get it to take music

This player will only recognize certain file types, and certain WMA files have restrictions that will allow you to play the song on your computer, but will not allow you to transfer it to an mp3 player. Your best bet is to get a music service that will only give you songs in mp3 format - it will give you fewer headaches. Once you have downloaded the songs onto your computer, you can use Windows Media Player to transfer the songs to your GPX. The full user's manual is available from GPX's website. Good luck!

My mp3 took songs off instead of adding.

Hello, I probably can help.

If its *full* its do to Filesystem Partially Corruption.
*BACKUP* all your songs. Then right click the usb device, format, than format in FAT format NOT FAT32 or NOT NTFS! THESE WILL RENDER YOUR DEVICE USELESS! Reload your songs and they should be good-to-go. If not i suggest contacting GPX

Sync'ing to my MP3 player "did not fit on device"

I had the same problem, and found out a solution. The reason no more files fit even though there is room is that the File Allocation Table can only fit so many entries. Your's must be at the limit. What you do is create a folder under the main folder and copy files there. It should work.

GPX MW6815DT trouble

For those that still use this mp3 player here are some things you need to know.

the gpx mw6815dt can operate as a media player or a usb storage device.

you need to change which state it is in via the System option.
Enter (Sys) from (Mode) go to (Online Device) enter (Mode) select USB Disk or Media Device. When you connect it as a USB Disk you will see all files not shown when connected as a Media Device using windows explorer. Also I suggest you make sure if you format the GPX you stay with the FAT 16 file system.

Note: DRM only works when the gpx is in Media mode.

If you have an SDcard installed you can access it via windows explorer or media player as a usb device only. With media player 11 you can still sync both the internal and sd drive with your library however you won't have drm options since your in usb device mode.

Note: in order to have both usb drives avaiable you need to use the Multi Drive option under (Online Mode) in the (System) menu, other wise you won't see the sdcard.
