I have a Compaq Evo N610c and wanted to now what is under the right cover on the right of the mouse pad

    to the right and underneath ie the battery, on the left next to the touchpad, is the memory expansion bay.

I have a compaq 620 and would like to turn OFF the mouse / track pad under the keyboard... please help!

check your settings under power options in control panel, also check advanced power options in bios. very likley you will find problem here.

Access to ram

The n610c has RAM accessible from underneath the laptop. There will be a cover with a logo looking like a computer chip near it. Should be 1 screw to access it.

Disabling touch pad

The touchpad should be able to be disabled through the BIOS.

Restart the computer, then push F10 to access the BIOS - if F10 doesn't work, try the other function keys and possibly the ESC key. You should find the option to disable the touch pad within the BIOS settings.
