I just recently purchased a used Jensen VM9510 in my 2003 Ford ZX2. Everything looks great, but when I try and play some movies I get all the background music and noises, but no voices from the main characters. I am at a loss as far as what to look for. The previews in movies even play all the voices and what not. Some movies do work when I play them, but I have a handfull that all don't. Any help or advice would help right now THANKS!
It sounds as though the unit is set up for "6-channel" surround mode, but you don't have a center speaker. That means the audio sent to that speaker isn't being heard. You'll need to get to the audio setup menu, and either turn off the 6-channel mode, or turn off the center channel option. There are two different Jensen models with the VM9510 model number, but you can download an owner's manual for either one here: http://www.audiovox.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/GenProductListCmd?type=model&catalogId=10001&storeId=10001&categoryId=VM9510&langId=-1&page=&urlString=&productId=&brand=

I dug through the owners' manual a little bit. If you've got the non-touchscreen version of the VM9510, then yes, you need the remote to access the sound settings for the DVD player.
Here's a link to a retailer that sells the replacement remote online:http://www.remotes.com/store/jensen/vm95...

I tried finding the center channel or 6-channel option to turn it off, but all I found was the volume control for the center speaker. I turned it all the way down and it still does not work. I do not have the remote for the deck, would that possibly help??
