Question about Olympus WS-100 Digital Voice Recorder
Thanks, Noggin, for pointing me in the right direction. The HOLD switch was set to HOLD. Once I switched it off, I was able to access my previous recordings and can make a new recording.

Here is the link to the user manual; http://www.olympusamerica.com/files/WS100200Sman.pdf depending how important the previous recordings are, formatting the recorder (page 2) may be the best option - can you still access the files if the recorder is connected to a PC?, in which case save the files you want and try the format. If this doesn't help, please ask again :)

Hello I think what you want is to over record on a top of the previous dictation, but this recorder does not work that way example: let say that you are counting 12345678910 and you want to correct and add ACBD between 5 6 to listen back 12345ABCD678910. This recorder don't work that way, the only feature that this unit have is add or insert to the end, on the file that you are listen. During playback press REC for more than 1 second the record indicator appears and "ADD" will flash for 3 seconds in the display window the indicator will turn red and the new recording will be added at the end to the current message.
I really recommend if you want to used a Digital Recorder like the old style analog recorder with a slide switch this unit is really easy to operate and all the features that anyone needs, I think the price is not bad, is really a professional digital recorder http://www.tvps.com/Products/Philips-9380-Pocket-Memo-Digital-Recorder---New-LFH-9380__PH-LFH-9380.aspx

I have a similar problem, but I can't get *any* response. I see the "CHECK" (and hear a double-beep), and "SEE YOU" messages at start-up and shutdown. On the display, I see Folder B, a full battery icon, HQ, a microphone with HI, "00", and "00:00". None of the buttons seem to do anything, with the exception of ON/OFF and Hold. I've tried holding them, and no difference. I tried removing the battery, replacing the battery, holding buttons when installing the battery. I plugged it into my PC, and was able to see everything, removed the data files. Didn't change anything.
I think it might be busted. It worked, and now it doesn't.
