Proble opening saved project in Cubase SX3

I'm currently using Cubase SX3 on windows XP Pro, with 3GB Ram, and E-MU 0404 Soundcard. There is hardly anything else installed on the PC, as I have just re-installed windows again, to correct a few problems.

Cubase will open & operate fine, but when I save a project and try to re-open it again, Cubase will just freeze, and I get the ''Cubase is not responding' error.

Has anyone else had this and to you know how to rectify it?

After Cubase shuts down from the error, I check the error and get this :

wat do i do im using cubase on vista could that be the reason

There should be 2 analogue outputs on that sound card. Also make sure that all sound are set to the default sound card. There should be a check mark along with the sound card.

No audio from EMU 0404 soundcard

may be problem in power unit. you can try it, first uninstall driver and after setup.

E-MU 0404 Soundcard no longer functions

Reinstall the software driver for your soundcard to make it work. If you have the disc, just insert it and reinstall,
otherwise, you have to download it from the internet.

In Cubase SX3, go into Devices > Device Setup.

Once in the menu, click on 'VST Audiobay' and make sure 'Release ASIO Driver in Background' is UNCHECKED.

No sound upon installing E-MU 0404 pci card and driver

Hey ya'll.
I had the same problem with everything installed,icons on the screen etc...I took my stuff to my computer wizard and he came with the following solution which is:
Make sure that you have a Windows XP "SP2 or GREATER" this is the kicker.Go to the requirements sheet if you need more info.
Anyway I did that upgrade from SP1 to SP2 and it works like a charm with pristine sound.

0404 installed but cubase vst 5.1 will not load it stalls when loading vb-1. I had the same problem with an auditgy card any ideas on how to fix the problem? Geoff

vb-1 is a cubase virtual instrument this is where cubase was stalling, When i uninstalled cubase i went into the vst plugin folder and saw the folder vb-1 [virtual bass] I read the text file within and it told me to copy the dll files within into the active vst plugin folder. when i re installed cubase all was well. I have been using cubase for years and did not have this problem until i installed the e-mu 0404 pci card, or the audigy card

Usb mic in cubase sx3

you have a pci audio card so maybe you can add an extra input device by going to devices panel or press F4 shortcut.
and choose your usb mic.
also you can check your wavelab audio inputs. they must have the same config so if you can record woth your usb mic and your poci card in wave lave you must be able to do so in cubase sx

you might want to downgrade to xp because vista uses alot of ram to run it. you could also get more ram. you need about 1gb and a half to 2 gigs to run most recording softwares and interfaces. i personally use vista cause i lost my xp disk and i got 2 gbs of ram and everything runs great, but if you really want to get into recording do what im doing and save up and buy a mac.
