If your current speakers are plugged in to the back of the computer, then there is no way to install additional speakers unless you purchase and install a sound card.

SOURCE: trying to get wifi for Dell Dimension 2400

Less expensive for recieving is simply the "usb stick" I would recommand a "ralink" chipset, (can be found in USROBOTICS and some less expensive brand like TOPLINK

SOURCE: Can I hook up my dell dimension 2400 to my laptop

Hello,

Well you can connect the two computers on a LAN (local area network) and copy files from one to the other. This may or may not be what you really want to do.

If you have a LAN available just connect both machines to it. Then you have to set "File Sharing" on the computer you want to copy to.

Open up Windows Explorer on the machine you want to copy to and find the folder you want to copy your files to. Right click on the folder and select Properties then select the Sharing tab.
Follow the instructions in the second section.

After that is done you can go to the computer you want to copy form and from Windows Explorer in left hand pane, "Folders" scroll down to "My Network Places" -> "Microsoft Windows Network" -> "Workgroup" -> "MSHOME" and find the computer you want to copy to in the list.

Find the folder you want to copy to on that computer and then copy your files in to that folder.

If you don't have a LAN you can use a special LAN cable called a NULL cable to do this. Connect the two machines with the NULL cable and the run the "Network Setup Wizard" from "Control Panel". Select "This computer connects to the Internet through a residential gateway or through another computer on my network". Then follow the setup dialog from there.

Hope this helps.

I have a dell 2400 desktop computer. I recently got FIOS and they hooked my wife's computer to their router with an ethernet cable. Can I also hook my dell up the same way?

Depends on the hardware. Is it a router or modem? Does is have extra ports in the back,

Router with extra ports, just connect new device with wire or even wireless if it has wireless.

Modem, most likey you have to buy a router.

Why no sound from my speakers with Dell Dimension 2400, even though it's equipped for sound? Speakers worked fine plugged into Compaq.

Please try other speakers to make sure that it is in fact the computer and not the speaker port itself. If other speakers work, then it is most likely a driver problem. Try to find the drivers for your speakers and install them, restart, and reconnect your speakers. Good luck!

How to hook up 2 kicker 10" speakers & kicker amp to a 2002taurus

Good day ma'am, hi, hooking up an extra amp. on your radio is done by audio professionals, but if you can remove the radio out from your ford, you can install that extra amp. Just follow the diagram below.63bff30.gif You need to find line out of your radio to line in of your kicker amp. connect them using audio shielded cables. connect your speakers to the amp. I guess you this already.

Sound Problems

To make it easy for you this is the default audio driver for Dimension 2400 systems. Click on this link ---> http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/downloads/en/downloads_splash?c=us&l=en&s=gen&~mode=popup&file=122481
this would install your integrated audio driver for your system.
Let me know if this resolved this issue.

A friend hooked extra speakers to my system and now the speakers have no sound what have he done/

He probably overloaded the system...it is rated for a specific resistance and adding extra speakers can ruin the speakers or the system or simply not play. I recommend researching the rating or simply disconnecting the extra speakers.
