Question about Garmin StreetPilot c550 GPS Receiver

1 Answer

Poor directions For the first couple months, my unit was terrific. I could trust it implicitly to guide me. Lately it has become erratic and I have to check every trip I take. Most of the time it does not provide a 'shortest time'route until I input one or more way points - the last time I did this the time ended up being 30 minutes shorter on a 4 hour route. It also provides a different routing now, for routes traveled a couple months ago. I updated the software, but saw no improvement. Ideas??

Go to setting (the wrench icon) press it, then look for Navigation, then check Route Preference to see if it is set for either fastest time or shortest distance. If you want shortest distance, the upgrade most likely reset it to Fastest Time (default).

Why does the control board on this Sanyo CL2472 Split unit keep going out? 3rd one appearantly I replaced the most recent one 2 months ago

•Poor ground, at unit or disconnect/breaker panel
•Shorted wiring from I.d. to o.d. unit not shorting out all the time,
I've had a o.d. fan motor take out a couple of boards. •The motor was "stiff" to turn and the high resistance during operation damaged the board
•Ive learned anything, wiring or load, connected to them over-engineered circuit boards can damage them. Get a good voltmeter you trust. Certainly get a set of small leads for your meter due to the cannon connector sizes. Call tech support and write down everything you can. Ask for resistance values for loads and circuits. Start with the o.d. fan motor, I always do. Took me 3 warrantied boards before I found it BUT, I only found it when I had a new motor next to the old motor and I spun it. Could feel the bad was Stiff compared to the new motor. And start troubleshooting in the area that's connected to faulted area on the board. Tech support can help there. Work safe!

Poor starting and erratic tickover

These are great little engines and do not suffer with too many things, first to look at clogged spark arrester in the muffler out let, remove and lean, check the fuel hoses have not become brittle and have cracked and are leaking, failing that check the ht leed where it runs close to the cylinder, is it arcing out? i have replaced a few ignition units, so you can never rule this out.

Few months back i bought kodak c43 easyshare serial no cgxs03913819 from homeshop 18 but now the screen becomes pinkish and unable to take clear snaps please guide

If its only a couple of months old, it should still have a warranty. Certainly a manufacturer's warranty.

Its time to go back to Homeshop18 contact them via their customer care links and ask them for a refund or replacement.

It's possible the Firefly remote is interfering. It's also possible the mouse is going bad (G7s have been around for a while). I'd contact Logitech and see what they can do for you - their warranty support for mice is terrific.

Not printing..very porr quility

You have given two different problems. Not printing...very poor quality. If the unit is not printing or has poor quality my first question to you is "have you changed the ink cartridges lately?". Typically the ink cartridges do not last long and if they weren't filled properly it could be a little as a couple of months. Low or no ink cartridges would certainly give you both problems. If you have changed the cartridges since this problem began were they one's you have had for a while (purchased but not used and sat around) or did you just purchase them and immediately install them. Many of the cartridges sold today are refilled units and many times they can have problems. If this scenario is yours I would return the cartridges and get another set to see if that was the problem. If you have already done this then your unit may need the driver reinstalled or updated. I have a tip at which explains how to do this by downloading the most recent driver from the manufacturer.

Thanks for using FixYa and the great rating.

Poor prints and paper jams

Sounds like you probably need a new fuser. Smearing is a good indicator of the fuser not getting the toner to fuse to the paper, also, if it is jamming a lot near where the paper enters the fuser, there is a good chance there is some damage on the fuser unit itself.

Failure during operation

No. The fan setting simply runs the fan full time bypassing the thermostat. In cooling mode the unit is slave to the thermostatic sensor located in the return air stream. If the unit is in a very small room or the exiting cool air is obstructed by furniture or curtains then the cool air is directed directly back to the sensor before mixing with the room air, causing erratic operation. Be sure several square feet of floor space is open in front of the unit and point the vent upwards and see if that makes a difference. Hope this was somewhat helpful, GL.
