Question about Toshiba 32A43 32" TV
There are a number of things that can cause this.
If you have a compact flourescent lamp in the room, this can cause some models of TV sets to go nuts, or not respond to the remote. These compact flourescent lamps use a frequency band that is close to the data carrier freqency of the remote.
Excellent article about compact flourescent lamps interfering with appliance IR remotes:

The other thing that can be wrong is there may be a fault in the keypad assembly on the TV set, or a fault condition with the uPC.

I have the same problem. My tv keeps going through the same cycle. The menu button all of a sudden doesn't work. This all happened after installing a tivo but now tivo is totally unplugged from the tv and it's still happening.
I have a toshiba 32a43 32 in tv and video 1 , video2 , video 3 ,then to Tv continue to pop up and the menu screens and moving by itself choosing selections. I still have not fixed this . I had my cellphone next to the back of the tv but I moved it and in continue to happen. How can I fix this. Or must I send the tv to the repair shop.
