Insert the latch into the faceplate opening, ensuring that the sides
of the faceplate line up with the flat surface on the latch collar. Push
flush with the drive-in collar. Then grasp the faceplate in one hand
and the latch in the other hand and rotate the faceplate clockwise to
snap in to the collar.
You can't take the faceplate off you have to buy a snap on cover. This makes the phone thicker but if you want a different look that is what you have to do. You can also buy phone stickers and decorate the front and back.
Start by removing battery. Then remove the camera plastic panel. After that you will need to loosen the screws holding the faceplate in on the top. You will require a special tool for this but it can be purchased from most places that sell DIY faceplate kits.After careful prying the faceplate should come loose. All i did was slip a knife blade between the silver part and where the face plate meets it. It simply pops out after aplying some upward pressure. There are a few places where the face plate has to be popped before the entire thing is free
