I have an RCA D52W20 and the top is cutoff only on satellite and vcr...not dvd

If your VCR does not have the coax connection then you should either have RCA inputs and outputs or the BNC type of connections. If you have the RCA style then you can connect your sattelite receiver using them. If you have the BNC type then you may have to contact the manufacturer to see if there are converters available to switch your RCA ends to BNC. You will also have to find out if the BNC connections will even work with the outputs from the satellite receiver.

What to do if you have an all snowy picture (blue screen or the TV displays unusable signal-no signal or no sync)
1 – If you are using a digital cable box or satellite receiver (make sure it’s on) and be sure your TV is set for either CH3 or CH4 (which ever you usually view it on). If you usually view it through video inputs (video1 or 2 etc.) make sure the appropriate input is selected.
If you still don’t get a signal see if you get picture using the DVD or VCR (if available) if you do than plug the satellite or Dig. Box temporarily into the place of the DVD (unplug DVD) you may have to use some A/V cables (RCA yel./red/wht like the ones on the DVD) to hook to the tv from the sat./dig. box. If you get a signal then the sat./dig box is ok. If not the Sat./dig box is not sending a signal and is either defective or needs to be rebooted (unplug wait 5 min try again).
2 – If you are using standard cable or antenna (source) if possible check that the source is good by connecting to another TV. Otherwise try running the source into a VCR and then out to the TV using video inputs (RCA yel./red/wht like the ones on the DVD) and then selecting the appropriate input. Try seeing if the VCR plays using standard CH3 (or CH4)
If the VCR plays on video input but not when connected to CH3 (CH4) then the tuner of the TV may be defective – see if you can use the VCR to change channel using the VCR remote.

It's on but you are on the wrong input. check your connections from your sources ( i.e. dvd, vcr or satellite/cable box) try pressing source or input button on tv remote

you will only be able to get digital surround( dolby digital ) from your dvd player( by the coax or optical digital connections ) , the rest will only be in virtual surround

from the dtv box plug the yellow video jack(RCA) into the vcr video input , then plug the audio jack or jacks into the audio input on the vcr. from the vcr hook the audio out to the audio in on the reciever( tv/vcr/sat... input ) , then also connect RF out from the VCR to RF in on the TV .
for the dvd player hook the "s-video out" to the "s-video in" on the tv , then the audio L and R on same s-video input , then send the audio out connection on tv to L and R input on reciever dvd L and R input , then you will need to connect the optical from the dvd player to the reciever or coax connections for the dolby digital on the reciever to work
