I have Tiger and I have the latest version of iTunes.  When I connect my iPhone, iPhoto opens even though I have no photos on my iPhone.  iTunes doesn't open.  When I open it manually, my iPhone doesn't show up in the list of devices.  Help!  This didn't happen when I had Panther.  I just installed Tiger.

I have the same problem running os 10.4.9 and iTunes 7.3 and have yet to figure thos one out. Try turning off auto detection in iphoto. Chances are that iphone not only looks like an ipod to the computer but also a digital camera. I actually use thos feature to organise my photos so o havent tried it yet.

We have the same problem. Apple tells us that we need 10.4.10 (Tiger OS). We have 10.3.9 (Panther). So we have to spend $129 and get Tiger.

You need to get the latest itunes.. 7.3 I think it is. Ask the people @ the itunes store or download it off of Apple. I think it was arouns 135.00.

ITunes is a free download. You would have needed the latest 7.3 version to activate the iPhone (or are you using another computer?) so that isn't the problem. Try opening iTunes first, then connect the iPhone. You should see the iPhone in the list.

If there are photos on the iPhone, your Mac will open a "Photo Import" screen automatically. The first version of iTunes 7.3 has been updated and now will auto-open as well.

I forgot code n for my i phone how to open it

  1. Even when your iPhone is locked up, you can still sync it with your computer. Do that first so all your data is backed up in iTunes. If you're using iCloud, you might want to switch it over to your computer for now just to be sure your information is safe.
  2. Put your iPhone into DFU (Device Firmware Upgrade) mode. To do this, reboot your iPhone by holding down the power and home buttons simultaneously for about 10 seconds. When you see the Apple logo, let go of the power button but continue holding down the home button. Soon you will see an image displaying a USB cable, the iTunes icon, and a message that says "Connect to iTunes."
  3. Assuming you still have your iPhone connected to your computer with iTunes open, you'll also see a message telling you iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode and needs to restore. Now you can click the Restore button in iTunes and then wait for iOS to download and install on your iPhone.
  4. Sync your iPhone with iTunes to restore all your data and you'll have it back to normal with no password!

Transfer photos ipad

Do you want to transfer photos from laptop to iPad? If so, you can follow the below steps to do that.

You could also try to transfer photos from PC to iPhone Camera Roll via the iTunes Photo Sync. You need to make sure that you've downloaded and installed iTunes on your PC and connected iPhone to PC via the iPhone USB cable. Then, the below steps would show you how to transfer photos from PC to Camera Roll.
1. Click on this icon and you will see some more menu on the left side-bar. Select the Photos menu item to open the Sync Photos screen.

2. Tick on the Sync Photos from checkbox to allow iTunes to sync photos from your desktop. Then from the drop-down next to the checkbox you can select which folder you want to sync from.

3. You can then choose whether you want to sync the whole folder, along with its subfolders, or select individual folders. And you can choose whether videos would need to be synced as well.

4. You can also, instead of choosing a local folder, select to sync from the iPhoto. Here you can then further pick which Albums of Events to be included if you wish not to sync the whole content of your iPhoto.

When you finish your selection click on the Apply button and iTunes will start syncing your photos to your iDevice.
This method of using iTunes to transfer photos/videos are very suitable when you want to transfer a big number of photos and videos. And since it's not using either the Internet or wireless connection, the transfer rate would be pretty fast and reliable and free.

Yes it can, connect your iphone to your computer, at this point as soon as your computer recognizes the iphone itunes should open up.. if it doesn't just open it up yourself. Now on he left where all the playlists are there should be an icon with you iphone there, click on it. Iphone photos

opened iphoto and it gives "no items to import" ? if true try this. when iPhoto is open and your phone is connected, open the albumn of pictures you've taken with your iphone on your iphone. iPhoto should immediately recognize the new pictures you had taken and should indicate "x items to import." x being number of photos. An alternative to this can be If you individually delete the previously imported iPhone Camera Roll pictures using the trash can on the bottom right (touching the screen brings it up), iPhoto will then see the new iPhone pictures for importing. I believe this can be done without opening at the time of sync the iPhone Camera Roll picture album as you suggested. Give these a try and let me know.
