No driver for my modem

That is not the right way to do it. Connect one computer to the cable modem using an USB A/B cable from the USB port on the modem to an available USB port on the computer and connect the second computer to the modem Ethernet port-to-Ethernet port using an Ethernet cable (probably the modem came with one Ethernet cable).

When you did the initial setup for your router, you should have configured the wireless adapter in the router:
* set a SSID -- the "name" of the network
* set an encryption-level -- hint: use 'WPA' or 'WPA2'
* set a password for your network

It's that SSID/password that you need to enter on the DSI, to make a wireless connection to your router.

• You can use both Ethernet and USB interface to connect two PCs simultaneously with one cable modem.

• If you plan to go wireless (and maybe connect more computers), you have to purchase a router to split/share the internet connection coming from the modem.

http://www.drivers-fix.net/arris.php. Comcast sometimes has drivers for this device. Use the ethernet connection if you can cause Arris EMTA's usb outputs **** unless your trying to do both which is what I think your doing. If your computer only has a USB connection look for adaptors

Your modem is capable of linking up to a router. What you do is take an ethernet cable and run it form the internet port on your modem to the internet/wan port on your router. From there you connect your pc's into the LAN ports on the router (typically labeled 1-5) if they are hardwired or you connect wirelessly with your laptop. You need to also power cycle/reset your modem when you plug your router in.

All routers will only work with ethernet. You would need to get an ethernet card installed in your computer. You can probably buy one for about 20.00 at Walmart. If you don't want to do this you can purchase a usb/ethernet adapter and still use the usb port on your computer. You can purchase one of these for around 5.00's on ebay. Just go to ebay and search for usb/ethernet adapter. Please rate if this has helped. Thanks.
