Question about MSI K8MM-V Motherboard
I've bought a used MSI K8MM-V board and I've tried to get it running. The board has started immediatly after I've plugged in the mains plug (no need to press the power switch). The CPU fan has been running, but I ahvn't got any video signal on the sreen, nor a error signal from the board. I checked the power supply with my old board and it worked fine. What can I do to fix the problem? How can I find out, if the motherboard is ok? Could it be problem caused by transport (the board came to me with the mounted CPU + fan and the mounted memory - it was wrapped up in a kind of a foam foil) Thanx in and advance for any helping answers.
Unless the on-board video is bad. I found this website from MSI Corporation. It explains in detail (with pictures) troubleshooting techniques you can try. I hope this helps. Please write me back and let me now if this helps. http://www.msicomputer.com/support/sup_tshoot.asp

I had no user manual and I didn't know that the ATX specification has changed. My power supply is too old and doesn't support the ATX 2.x specification.
It seems that I have to buy a new power supply.
