MSI-Board K8MM-V starts immediatly after turning on power
I've bought a used MSI K8MM-V board and I've tried to get it running.
The board has started immediatly after I've plugged in the mains plug (no need to press the power switch).
The CPU fan has been running, but I ahvn't got any video signal on the sreen, nor a error signal from the board.
I checked the power supply with my old board and it worked fine.
What can I do to fix the problem? How can I find out, if the motherboard is ok? Could it be problem caused by transport (the board came to me with the mounted CPU + fan and the mounted memory - it was wrapped up in a kind of a foam foil)
Thanx in and advance for any helping answers.
I had no user manual and I didn't know that the ATX specification has changed. My power supply is too old and doesn't support the ATX 2.x specification.
It seems that I have to buy a new power supply.I had no user manual and I didn't know that the ATX specification has changed. My power supply is too old and doesn't support the ATX 2.x specification.

If your copy of Win XP does not recognize the SATA drive (i.e. Early copy of XP) you will need to use the F6 option and load the SATA driver that came with the MSI mother board.
Your board is actaully listed as a model K8mm-V on the MSI website. Here is a link to the MSI page with the correct drivers for your board. These will work for Version 1 or 2 boards:
hi, when you start your computer its giving a beep if not check your memory(Ram) remove it and check it your motherboard giving a continous beep, if yes replace your ram
You need to confirm the board model number before I can find drivers.
Is your board a K8MM-V ? This was the only board that came up when I did a search with 7142 on the MSI website.
Did you load the VIA Smart5.1CH Sound Drivers for K8MM3-V/K8MM-V/P4MAM2-V ?
