Actually you do not necessary need an installation CD.
Connect to the router weather wired or wireless, then open your browser to 192.168.1.1, Provide username/password (default is admin) and start configuring it from there.

It is actually quite easy. On a device connected to the router, go to the routers lan address (default 192.168.1.1) and then log-in (default user: [leave blank] default pass: admin).Go to the securities section and where it says network security, you should choose WPA2 and enter a password. Press save and you should have a network password now!

If you are looking for a unit which can do both functions (Modem and Router) your internet provider is the right source. As modem by which you get your internet connection! and Router as the name says works as gateway! Contact your internet provider if you are looking for one unit for both functions!

1. Step 1 Open your web browser, type " http://192.168.1.1/ " into the address bar andhit "Enter." 2. Step 2 Use"Admin" as the username in the pop-up box and leave the passwordblank. 3. Step 3 Connect to the Internet and click on "InternetSetup." 4. Step 4 Select your connection type from the drop-down menu.Choose "DHCP" for cable modems or "PPPoE" for most DSLmodems. If you are unsure of these options, check with your ISP. 5. Step 5 Set a service set identifier (SSID) to identify therouter and change the password. 6. Step 6 Encrypt your wireless connection using a WirelessEncryption Protocol (WEP) key. Under the "Wireless Security" option,enter a passphrase and click "Generate." This will generate apassword which will need to be used by any client connecting to your router.

Hi Alyaranon,

I got ur issue, to find your WEP key on the router . Open the browser,ie: internet explorer in the comp which is online.

Type in the number 192.168.1.1 in the address bar of the internet explorer.

You will be logged into the Linksys router setup page where u can check the security on the router.

(this steps are based on default settings)

on your wired computer, open your internet browser, type 192.168.1.1 on the address bar.
it will ask for a Username & password, leave the username blank and type admin on the password.

go to the wireless tab, then click on the wireless security subtab. set the security mode to WPA ( typical ) then type your desires password
