Dell Latitude D630 PC Notebook scratchy sound

You Can Diagnostic your Dell item by pressing F12 then select Diagnostic from menu and press enter otherwise please clean the fan may be its dust issue .

I assume the problem is no sound? Have you updated the Audio Adapter driver? You can find the Audio drivers for Vista and XP here, verify you have the correct driver: http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/04/Product/latitude-d630

It does have WiFi capabilities.

Hi, First I would check your connections and make sure they are secure. This would include the connection to the screen itself.
The D630 runs a NVidia graphics card. There has been a huge failure rate with this card. There have been several class action lawsuits in this matter.
Again check your connections, and I would backup my documentsI once owned a d630 and it started with the screen acting "kooky" then it would go several weeks with no problem. Then it started with weird shapes and lines until the screen would no longer turn on.

try to boot in vga mode if its not orking it can be the screen you have to change it

Go here and choose an audio driver for your system. http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/ussoho1 I believe the top one of the two "audio" choices is the right one for your laptop...Download it and install it. That should fix the issue you are having. let me know hope this helps you!

Update Video Driver & BIOS, Are you having NVIDIA graphics on this system,then its better to call DELL and inform that,so that they will replace Motherboard Note:If you have any graphical or video issue on the system,then call DELL
But still call Dell you have Life time phone support
