Wife just chnaged out the printer cartridge & now cannot get the message " close door" to go away. Will not print because it keeps saying to close door. I dont see anything open & dont have the manual to look up the error in. Probley simple but just cannot figure it out. Any help appreciated. I have already unplugged it & turned back on & still getting same results.
Call Lexmark,we had the same problem. They sent us a new printer.

Either the cartridge didn't get seated properly or a tab on the door that pushes a hidden micro-switch is broken off, not aligned correctly or obstructed from going in to the slot. The tab is a non-assuming plastic tab that lines up with a hole in the housing. "If" it is broken, bend down the center of a paper clip to form a "T" and insert it into the hole. The "T" shape will keep it form falling through. You may have to tape it into place. This is a safety feature to keep you from reaching in while it is printing or about to start. So remove it before doing any maintanence.

1. Make sure the printer is on.
2. Open the printer cover. The print cartridge carrier
moves and stops at the loading position, unless the All-in-One is busy.
Note:
If the carrier does not automatically move to the center, turn off the
printer/unplug the printer from the power source and then slide the carrier to
the center.
3. Remove both cartridges from the carrier.
4. Close the printer cover.
5. Re-brick your printer.
Pull out the power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the
back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds.
6. When the printer turns on, reinsert one cartridge
first.
7. Close the printer cover and check for any errors.
8. If no error appears, reinsert the other cartridge.
Close the printer cover.
9. Replace whichever cartridge is causing the error to
appear with a new cartridge. Then try to print a document again to verify that
the problem is fixed.
Let me know if this helps.
