My Kodak Easyshare M1033 camera fell while the lens was extended and now the lens won't go back in plus the camera won't come on. Is it possible the lens is already bad?

Hi there please follow the steps and let me know the result.
1. Ensure batteries are fully charged & clean the battery connector point in side the battery compartment.
2. Look carefully between the lens and the camera body for any sand, dirt or any damaged etc.
3. Try turning the camera with the lens facing down and shake to dislodge anything stuck
4. Try removing batteries and memory card, wait 5 minutes and refit the battery only.
5. Now turn on camera( with out card ) and see ,if working then fix the memory card & again turn on the camera. If working then fine . Otherwise format the memory card and fix back in camera again & try. Make sure before format the memory card take a back up all photos in your computer then format. If no luck then reset or restore the camera setting by pressing Menu key for 2 sec .. in not done the press both Menu & self time key for 2 - 4 sec.

Camera turns on, and then turns off again right away

My M1033 had the same problem...I found a blog about someone using air to clean around the lens area...I cleaned my lens very thoroughly and noticed some gunk and once I cleaned this off, the camera seems to work like new!

My lens focuses only intermittenly

If you have the settings on AUTO the camera will automatically adjust to what it thinks will make the best picture.
Try and use the SCN.
You can also switch the flash on and off as you wish.

Camer comes on for 15sec then go off

I may be able to help with your Kodak EasyShare Z740 that turns itself off.

It may be a 'lens extending' problem, or it might be fixed with a combination of button presses to reset it while turning it on.

Try these steps to fix your camera.

I hope that helps.
