I have a kenmore he2 and the lights are flashing. I have had this machine for 14 months. called Sears and it is going to cost me 400 dollars. Any suggestion about to fix this machine. Any guidance or directions will be much appreciated.
I had the same problem with it stopping mid cycle and lights flashing. Turns out all i needed to do was clean out the very clogged drain pump filter. it is located just behind the front kick panel. it unscrews and pulls right out. there was a nasty accumulation there. ran great afterwards.

1/ Decoding the error codes on HE2 - There was a trouble shooting guide in a baggie on the inside of the kick panel. It explained how to decode the status lights. For my system I had 'add garment', 'rinse', and 'clothes clean' lit (along with the flashing cycle lights). That translates as F21=long drain, the guidance as to clean the pump, and if that did not resolve the issue, replace the pump (for about $60+ shipping)
2/ Actual issue was the pressure switch, located in teh upper right corner - easy access with the top off (AND POWER DISCONNECTED).
I disconnected the rubber sense tube from the switch and blew through the tube to make sure it was clear. I then removed the switch and applied some gentle mouth to mouth, hearing the micro switches click. Reassembled, and unit now runs, right as rain.

We had the most horrific odor from the laundry room then one day while we were standing there the washer started dumping water from the door. Turned out to be the filter was clogged. A back to back load caused the water to not drain passed the plugged filter.
The airplane/freight train noise or jumping around washer on spin cycle is bad bearings.
With the machine empty and the door open, reach in and push one hand at the 12 o'clock and the other at the 6 o'clock. When you push up then you will feel the play in the bearings. The slop will be very small but it doesn't take much for these to go bad. There is a lot of weight on them when you consider how fast they spin and the weight of that load.
If that doesn't work for ya then you can run a rinse cycle and shine a flash light into the back of the drum. The center should not move at all. It should spin with very little movement. Bad bearings will move that center all around.
So you have bad bearings?
If you have mechanical talent then they can be replaced cheaply. I've done it on several different brands and models. Send me an email and I'll explain.
Have a nice day.

If you purchased this unit and do not have the Sears Master Protection Plan, please beware. You will only get 3 good years out of this unit, that is why it is discontinued. Mine worked fine for 2.5 years until I experienced the same problem with lights flashing, stopping mid-cycle, and not draining the water. Sears came in and installed a pump, a master control board, a pressure switch a door switch during the same visit, and finally determined that the pump blew out again in less than 2 months after being replaced. We were without a machine for over 2 months as a result. Sears finally agreed to finally replace it after 7 visits, and after a 4th part was replaced. Most of their techs struggled to diagnose the problem. It ended up being the pump again. Either way I'm happy now, we got a replacement LG front loaded with lots of bells and whistles. Please do yourself a favor and fight for a replacement.

I have been having the same issue after looking into it you need to remove the front access cover and clear the pump filter. When it gets clogged the motor starts to over heat and this error cycle is to prevent the motor from overheating. Clean the filter let the machine cool and retry!! Good luck

Actually there is no error number. The model # of this washer is 110.46472501 and the brand is Kenmore HE2. I am now able to open the door and put a new load of clothes but as soon as I push the button Start, it starts making a noise (I think it is the pump sound) and the the lights start flashing contineously and of course it dosen't spin at all. I hope the information I provided is enough. by the way the Serial # is HLS4846860. Hope I know what is the real problem. Thanks (Gendos).
same problem and there is no other way to describe it.
SAME PROBLEM , DISPLAY LITES FLASHING AFTER FOLLOWING MANUAL'S ADVISE TO START IN SPIN AND DRAIN CYCLE. SOUNDS LIKES IT DRAINS, NO SPINNING AND WHEN THE LITES START FLASHING. 16 MONTHS OLD AND OUT OF WARRANTY . MODEL #110.46462501 HE2 QUIET PAK. PLEASE ADVISE
Have a Sears HE2 washer, Model#110.46462501. all lights go on when trying to wash. Followed owner's manual to try to re-set. No good. On the drain ans spin cycle, it sounds like a motor comes on, but pumps no water, and never goes to the spin mode. Also when I try setting it to rinse mode, no water comes out. Checked both water lines and screens. Free and clear, and water does pass through lines. I'm guessing that the mother board is not telling the machine how to behave next, but that's a W.A.G. Ideas?
Thanks,
Darien
I have the same issue. 110.46472501. No display of error code, however I got all of the green lights blinking. Pulled the cover off and emptied the water through the filter assembly allowing it to drain in a bucket. Cleaned the filter out of coins, guitar picks. Checked the drain hose made sure that is was clear. Even plugged the drain with a rubber ball and left the filter off and could see the impeller spinning on the pump to get the water out. Any Suggestions??
I have the same problem. All lights on panel are flashing. I can't open the door. If I press stop and Start again, the washer discharges the liquid in the machine, but starts to flash again. What a rip, The warranty ran out 3 months ago.... but I did receive 3 phone calls from a company wanting to know if I wanted to extend the warranty. Do you think they knew they were having a problem with this machine??? I bet they do.
kennmore he2 lights are flashing, door locked, pumpruns but no wash. whats the deal.
same problem. Where would you see error codes? The lights flash and then the door stay locked. I put the dial to Drain and Spin and this seems to work if I do it a few times. How does one re-reset this? I am not able to locate the manual.
Pump was replaced, washer still doesn't work - indication that the master control is stuck and needs to be replaced. This is $200 for the part per Sears but unfortunately they cannot locate the part to repair it. Any suggestions?
Lights flashing will stop washing wont spin just the same problem!
After 7 weeks of waiting I am told part is still on backorder. Sears won't replace it. I ordered a GE from another store at a fraction of the cost. Now I feel bad because I am out so much money. I even have the 5 year extended warranty. Machine was just 2 years old and had multiple problems. I am a Senior citizen, raising my young granddaughters. I could't take going to laundromat anymore. Perhaps this is the wrong venue. Handyman Dan can't help. I want the word out about this model. Thanks
The 2 year old washing machine ran two loads of clothes fine today. However, when the third load was started, when the start button was pushed the washer was trying to drain water. It seems to be stuck in the drain cycle. After a few miniutes, all of the cycle indicator lights flash on and the following indicator lights are on; Add a garment, rinse, and clothes clean. According to my manual the following should be checked. 1) drain hose linked 2) drain hose frozen 3) drain hose clogged 4) drain hose more than 96" above the floor. I removed the drain hose from the stand drain pipe and put it into a bucket. I visually inspected the drain hose and it is not clogged. I pushed cancel twice to reset the machine, and disconnected it from the power for several minutes, then plugged it back and tried to start the cycle. Same result!.
My washer was stopping during the rinse and spin cycle as well. All the lights would come on flashing.
The drain filter didn't help, but the pressure switch fixed it. Just like RRLee suggested. Thank you for your help. Saved me the money for a service call.

I have the same problem. I blew out the pressure hose and the pressure swicht and still have the problem. I have replaced the water pump and still have the problem of the flashing lights.
same issue, motor sounds strained and then it flashes and stops during the drain. multiple restarts end up "resolving" the issue, but it's very long to complete a load.
Our washer had this same issue today. We started it and it started going like usual and then it stopped and all the lights came on and flashed around the dial. We called Sears and they told us that they gave no technical help over the phone and wanted to charge us $75/hr to have someone come out. We came to this website and the problem was the pump filter had to be cleaned just like Guest above described! Thanks for posting this because if it had not been for this advice, we'd had to bow down to the technician gods.
Between the wash and rinse cycles, the machine stops, all cycle lights (normal, heavy duty etc) lights are on. The only way to re-start it is to push the "stop" button. It will drain and then turn off. You can immediately re-start it and it runs fine. No idea what the problem is.

Same problem, buyers beware. I have had my machine for less than 2 years when the lights started flashing and the machine would stop and not drain. Got it running again a few months ago and now it won't drain and makes a grinding noise. I will not buy Sears products again.
I have a Kenmore HE2 Model #110.4646,4647. The washer will run correctly (as I know it) until it is to spin. The washer will not spin on high, as the clothes are still soaking wet when load is done. We have done a pump test and seems to be pumping out water just fine. We have also cleaned the pump "screen". I have no LED screen just a dial, when the washer is done all of the lights around the dial will blink but the Add Garment light remains lit. PLEASE HELP!
Wow, mine started doing this about 2.5 years in also, I've never had a problem with Kenmore before, and am surprised! No wonder I couldn't find a manual when I looked online, since it was discontinued. Guess it's time to take the cover off and try to clean the filter.
Mine too!. Thanks for the tip on the pump filter, Yuck! But that seems to have fixed the problem. Thanks for saving me a big repair bill!
I'm staying clear of Sears from now on. This machine ran like a champ for about 2.5 years, now all of a sudden it made a sound like a plane taking off in my washroom. Bought a protection plan for 220 dollars. Guy came, fixed the airplane sound by "levelling the machine". All he did was open the door and fiddle with the basket for 10 seconds. Then a new sound started during the rinse and spin cycle, like a grinding sound. Another tech came and cleared out the pump filter. This made the spin cycle quiet, but now the rinse cycle makes the sound, and the lights go on and flash like crazy. So now I need another tech here. If I could, I'd throw it in the garbage and buy a real machine. Since I bought my house, I've dealt with Sears for appliances, and had my kitchen done over by them. They're nothing but a headache, and I wish I never bought, or trusted them with anything. Never again will I go to sears for anything, not even the smallest thing.
lights flash and beep
