The cursor will not move and I cannot use the laptop at all.

The cursur moves from the sensory pad, if the pad went out the cursur will not move.. I would start by installing an external wireless mouse or even a basic plug in mouse to the usb port and see if you can cntrol the cursor then. Cheap wireless mouses with a small included usb donggle can be used in place of the sensory pad cursor

You meant the built in mouse pad fails.

why not use wired USB mouse, now, and end the pain ,
then with a working mouse , get the HP driver from HP
and install it from HP. for W7. (luck)
at HP, fixyah is not HP, not at all..
that will work, if not driver issue, then buy a new pad. oops none are sold new.
after 10 years. so that leaves what, used pads sold on ebay..'
..
HP dot com. your support page. (seems to be collapsing from age)10years old it does. by hp rules.
even the tx2500 series is 10 years old now.

https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-tx2000-Entertainment-Notebook-PC-series/3650975

does your service tag show tx2000 , that is series
not telling the service tag number gets you wrong facts.
wrong drivers, so next time show the full model

try the support assistant there.?

here are the full list of tx2000 series PC
see ,its not just one PC, we need the full model p/n to answer
with any accuracy at all.

there is no guarantee at all any w7 driver exist. for your mouse pad but many times the Vista version will work
you lost that now, i you dont have the install disks from HP.
or the pad is simply bad.

we have tools here to scan your pad chips to see the makers
name and then get driver from them direct. after HP drops support.

Hi,
I believe I can help in what you are experiencing with your jumping cursor concern. you mentioned that you downloaded a driver, try downloading touch freeze, google it it will give you links where to download it and it is free, this should fix your jumping cursor issue
mvincentc.png

any of the links will lead you to the downloads page for the application.
once downloaded this is what you should see on your task bar, see image below. an icon of a touchpad with a check mark on it.

Hope this helps with your touchpad concern, Have a nice day.

Sir i am having hp 520 notebook. when i m starting it some times it form a unusual sound and unable to start.if i press esc key it will start, but the starting icon get selected,if i open my computer then...

old vista 520.
funny sounds are most times lent in the fan vents or fan full packed in lint, or HDD going bad.
ever get your PC serviced?
so you find the boot menu in BIOS
and picked HDD to boot
and it boots to VISTA right.
then the touch pad is failing.
try an external usb mouse for $3? maybe the touch pad is bad.
if the HP touch pad drivers are loaded and not corrupted, the touch pad is end of life. as all do, old. same with all mice,
there are hot keys to move the cursor, but must be learned.

why use a real mouse, or get the thing repaired.

Check the touchpad on/off button at the top of the mouse touchpad on the laptop, it's small and can easily get turned off by accident and you will think your mouse has quit working. There is usually an indicator light next to it. I'm not sure but on your laptop I believe it may be a blue light when the button is on and turns orange when switched off.

Mouse scroll strip stopped working!

Okay, try this.

(a) Assuming your touchpad is still not working, grab an external mouse and plug it in. That will work just as well.
(b) Assuming you already restored your PC to factory condition and it's working, then go to

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=2093&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3795434&lang=en for Vista 32-bit drivers or

Download and install, and that should get you going. Post back with how it goes.
