46PP9302/17f convergence problem maybe....

I have a Philips rear projection HDtv. Yesterday on one side of the tv the Convergence is distorted but in the center and the right side it is fine. Recently I cleaned the so-called fake mirror and the lenses. Also cleaning the inside of the screen. I would say about a week later this incident happens and now HD looks like an off 3D. Watching the inauguration was a bit challenging due to this is the largest tv in the house. I would love to post a picture of what it looks like. I know its the tv due to the testing of my DVD and and the rest of the inputs. I tried adjusting the focus and the clarity and surprisingly the focus has been off for quite some time. It looks better but still have convergence issues which I believe. Please help to keep my wife from making the next shopping experience horrible for me...lol

You need the STK392-120 convergence amps replaced along with possibly a couple of 6.8 ohm resistors. As a technician this job can range anywhere between $185.00-$250.00.If you can solder the dificulty level will require some electronics experience.Good luck!!

PHILIPS 60PW936317 - COLORS GOT DISTORTED AS I WAS WATCHING TV

Your convergence chips and convergence resistors are going bad. When they fail the screen colors will look distorted/3d looking.  Another symptom is one or more colors can't be converged using the convergence menu. You can purchase the parts over the internet. Just make sure you get Sanyo brand convergence chips and the correct flame proof resistors. You can also check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They are working on a complete kit for this model.
