Childesigns Bellmont Crib

I just bought a Childesigns Bellmont crib and didn't receive the spring part that the mattress sits on. I'm not sure if it just wasn't included or if they don't use that specific part. I'm not sure what to do. Thanks!

Do you mean the spring mattress? No. Spring mattress doesn't come with this product. The mattress sits on a mattress board.

Is the bellmont crib part of the recall?

Looking at the CPSC websight it does appear that the crib has been recalled in FEB. 2010. I personally have this crib and have had the problems with the sides detatching. I have had to use an alternate sleeping environment for my son. I just had the time to look into the recall myself. There is more information at www.CSPS.gov which will give you the information on how to proceed with the recall.

Is this crib part of the massive November 2009 recall?

No. The cribs being recalled are made by StorkCraft but any crib with a drop side that has plastic parts could pose a problem. Make sure the side latches securely and that the space between the side and the mattress is not large enough for a child's head to get trapped.

How do I get parts?

Childdesigns has gone out of business so it may be rather difficult in locating parts. You could try posting on various buy/sell sites,or try secondhand shops, yardsales, etc.

Is this crib recalled?

I am unsure if t Childesign has ever had any recalls. However, you can use the CPSC's governemnt website to find out for sure. The site is www.cpsc.gov. Also, Childesign has gone out of business and left no avenue for their customers to take in order to replace missing or broken parts. You will find it very difficult, if not impossible, to find the parts you need.

Childesigns crib part needed

I have the same problem and I spoke to www.productsamerica.com at 1-800-772-1041 this morning and they said that the childesign is no longer in production as far as they know and no parts available. They also said no repair kits available will fit it. I am stomped as to whether I should just go out and buy another crib now.

Childesigns carrollton crib

I am not familiar with this crib, but I have been through many cribs and they all (so far) are adjustable to lower the mattress. You can figure it out by removing the mattress and matress board and inspecting the way the board is connected to the frame. Often there is a bar or rung that sits in a clip or groove at each corner of the crib just below the matress board. You may have to crawl underneath and look up at it. Usually you will be able to lower the platform without using tools, but be sure to take the weight off the platform by removing the mattress and board. Good luck.
