We have a proprietary ERP that works very well with Zebra S600.
Nowdays, we bought a new printer, S4M, but our ERP stops to work and doens´t print anything.
The S4M comes with either EPL or ZPL programming language installed. (installed at factory) The S600 is a ZPL only printer. Check that you have correctly specified the S4M as a ZPL printer. Print a config label to check. If it is set as an EPL printer contact your supplier and ask him to download the correct programming language. It should only take a competent engineer about ten minutes (If he knows what he is doing)

It sounds like your labelling software is re-sending the entire print job each time. Do some research with your software and see if you can change the defaults so that everything BUT the serial number is stored inside the printer, and only the new serial number is sent. It's difficult to be more specific because every software package is different...

1.press the last button until the ligth set on Darkness (Darkness on),

print configuration label again ans se if you happy.
If the printer still going to darkness 30, chek if you forgot to save or check the driver settings and change.
Last option Resect to Factory Defult (this drop darkness to +10)
You need to make sure the printer is calibrated correctly. If you press the feed key, does one label come out and stop at the gap? Do the labels have a black mark on the back of the liner? This would tell us if the printer is set correctly. (Mark or gap). We need to make sure the labels are loaded correctly and the printer is set correctly. Then we move to driver and software settings. I have 10 years experience working for Zebra, so I will get you the resolution once we determine the current setup.
if you are using the free software that came with the printer, it does not print serialized numbers very well past about 160 or so... to stop the pausing uncheck the "Print bar code as a graphic" box and check the "Auto font scaling" box.
zebra s4m barcode printer ,suppose if i print 10 Labels only 2 Label come out balance 8 in memory .then printer comes pause, disply showing paper out /ribbon in/please help me....
this problem will address on label and ribbon issue. you must establish your printer set-up first, meaning see to it that the label and ribbon was correctly loaded, if still problem occur try using manual calibration you can see how to do at the manuals you have..
The Zebra Stripe S500 has a RS-232 SERIAL interface using a DB-25 connector . You'll need a USB to SERIAL converter, not parallel. Be sure that the baud rate and data/stop bits are set the same on the printer and interface converter. Generally speaking, use the fastest setting possible (19200 baud) unless you encounter problems.
What is the make and model of the new printer?
