Question about Cook's Essentials Home & Go

Open Question

Heating? My Cook's Essentials Home & Go is a brand new wedding gift. I filled it up with tap water to run it for the first time (not to make coffee, but just to test it out) and it worked like a charm. The two stainless mugs were filled with hot water. So, I turned it off and proceeded to fill it with more tap water to actually brew coffee. First I filled it with water then I added a filter and coffee. When I turned it back on, nothing happened. I waited 10-15 minutes and nothing. I turned it off. I felt of the water, it was cold. I unplugged it. Then I plugged it back in. Turned it on and waited another 10 minutes. Nothing. What happened? It was working just fine! Thanks for any support. Erin

SOURCE: MODEL CM202 (COOK ESSENTIALS)

Contact Heather at Select Brands. I ordered replacement carafes for our office CM202 dual coffee maker. It took about a month to get them, so be patient. I believe they make an order when enough folks get on the list for replacements.

[email protected]

Heather's email to me last year (Aug 07):
Those carafes are 15$ and that includes s&h. We take MasterCard/Visa over the phone or via e-mail. However, they are on backorder right now. Please give me your name/address/phone number/how many carafes you are interested in and I’ll put you on the call back list and I’ll contact you once they become available

SOURCE: I bought a cooks essentials

Sometimes gook gets in and around the buttons where you can not see..Mine does that and I have to wash the button area with a hot rag and hold the blow dryer close..The heat from blow dryer releases and melts the underlying the gook.

Doesn't always brew all the water, stops early

All coffee makers do this over time from calcium, lime, and mineral deposits building up inside the tubes and heating coil. Fill the reservoir with a 50/50 mixture of water and white vinegar and run a normal brew cycle, turning it off and on if necessary to completely empty the reservoir. Repeat this 2 or 3 times with fresh mixture of vinegar and water until it brews the reservoir empty without the need to cycle the power. Follow this procedure with plain water 2 or 3 times to clean the vinegar out. This should get it working like new again. It's best to use distilled water for brewing coffee as distilled water does not have the minerals that regular tap water has and therefore will not clog up the machine.

How do you brew a pot of coffee? Someone gave us a machine for our wedding and it just sits on the kitchen counter doing nothing.

I'm assuming you've got a coffee filter pot as this is the most common kind (especially as wedding gifts).

1. Boil the water.

2. Put the filter (should come with the pot) into the filter holder.

3. Add 2 level tbsp. of ground coffee per 6 oz of water.

4. Pour some of the hot water over the coffee grounds, giving them a few seconds to swell.

5. Now add the rest of the hot water and allow the coffee to slowly drip through the filter.

6. Remove the filter with the coffee grounds in just before the final drops of water go through.

7. Now sit down and enjoy!

Our Keurig is in Australia using a transformer for voltage. Brand new and keeps telling us to prime ????

Hi. Open the steam/hot water outlet while it is heating. This allows the air to come out, and water to fill the water circuit. The pump will be noisy at first, but will quiten when water has filled it. Good luck and enjoy your coffee. Dazza. Repairer 0401 200 901. Queensland

Pressure cooker CEPC900 Question Is the inner pot made of aluminum? I know it is coated black. I was concerned with cooking with aluminum. I got it as a gift.

No problem to cook with aluminium. The only dangerous thing with aluminium is the PRODUCTION, not the metal itself. Don´t worry.

We were using tap water to fill the machine for about 2 months...now, nothing comes out at all....do you think it has something to do with hard water?

Probably, unless the heating element has burned out. All coffee makers suffer from the same problem. Use a 50/50 solution of cold water and white vinegar--run it through several times, then run just cold water through until the vinegar taste is gone. Good luck!
