I just got a 2002 chevy trail blazer. It has the factory double din radio installed with built in amp. I can only hear a little from the speakers when turned up all the way. I can't seem to get anything from the front right of the vehicle and it's just quiet from all the other speakers. I thought maybe a ground or something with the speaker that would be causing it. The dealership says it is the factory amp that has a short in it. I haven't started diging into it yet and was wondering if i should start at the speaker or at the deck. everything else in the radio seems to be working. there are two front right speakers i can't hear anything out of, the pass door and the pass front dash speaker. please give me better answers than the dealership did, "It'll cost $60.00 for us to even look at it". I think I'll just try it out myself. Must fix soon for road trip!! HELP!!
Ok if you can, pull out the radio. disconnect the plugs off the back. Go here to find the wireing diagram of the 2003 trail blazer as I think it is the same as the 2002. http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp~TID~21084 Take a 1 and a half volt to 9 volt battery, and go to each speaker pair and touch the speaker wires to the battery, on and off to see if you hear a click out of the speakers. If you do, You know the speakers are good, if you do not hear a click when you touch the battery to the speaker leads, then of course the speaker or the wiring is bad. It would probably be less expensive to get another radio installed then it would be to get this one repaired or to get another one from the junk yard. Good Luck

I have a 97 S-10 Blazer with no sound coming from any of the four speakers. Sometime I get sound after the Blazer warms up inside or has been driven for a while.I have tried three different radio's. One is known to be good. Do the speakers use a common ground?
