I have been using my Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-P92 for 2 years and recently I tried to download some pics onto my laptop. I can see all the pictures on my camera, but when I connect it to my laptop, it says that the memory stick is empty. I have tried clicking on "properties" and it still appears to be empty. Help please? These photos are precious!! Thanks :-)
Take the stick to wallmart or a place withe fancy digital camera printouts..and try it there. if it works your camera has might need to clean out the mem slot....I would use a elecrtonic greaseless pure wash from ....radio shack might have it...and spray hard into slot the camera upside down so it drains right out...if still problem get a bright light and amd look into the mem slot (reading glasses)....look at the gold pins...notice if gunk or or anything or bent...if bent u have to very caryfully use fine tools to straigten them.
good luck,
CL

backup all your images onto a computer.
turn on the camera, go to HOME, then go to MANAGE MEMORY and click on MEMORY TOOL. next click on FORMAT.
this will solve the problem! make sure u back up ur pics coz by formatting u will erase entire memory.
what do you mean nothing happens???
the memory stick pro duo should fit right into the sony cybershot....
if your struggling to load your photos onto your computer buy a universal memory card reader!
you should try and use a memory stick in a camera that needs an sd though!
try useing it on another computer you dont have to install sony software to use the camera on another computer if it dose work that tells you that its prob your USB port.
I think you DSC W 100 is windows xp compatible. However; you can download your software here: http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=DSCW100&LOC=3
after downloading install it to your system.
copy and paste the link to the internet browser address bar.
When you download to the computer, what program do you open with? Try not using the auto-open feature, and open direct from new device in "my computer". Ed
