Here is the tip directly from the manufacture vtech. Tip 1 of 1 Caller ID and Call Waiting ID are subscription services, available from most local telephone service providers. You must subscribe to these services in order for the features to work on your phone. Contact your local telephone service provider for more information. In addition, your caller must be calling from an area that supports caller ID. Both you and your caller?s telephone service provider must use compatible caller ID systems. Caller ID and Call Waiting ID may not be available for every call. Common reasons are incompatibilities between your and your caller?s service, transmission errors and answering calls before the ID data is received. They state that if you have further problems, to contact customer support at 1-800-595-9511. Also, who is your phone service provider? And who is the manufacture of the old phone? If this does not help, please post further. Also, please rate this solution through fix-it. Thank you.

This does not help. My caller ID was working until this last weekend, all of a sudden it stopped working. There has been no changes in phone services or provider.

Just bought KX-TGD225 phone system and can't get the caller Id function to work even though I subscribe to caller ID with the phone company. The talking caller ID works but no display on the phone

Please call your phones service provider, they may charge for this service. Just because the phone is capable of caller ID function doesn't mean it is a free service.

How do i change my username in my blackberry so i can get a new blackberry id

The Blackberry ID is permanent to the phone's operating system once activated. This is part of their security for the installed data. The explanation why it is done this way is involved. This approach is basically done in case the phone is lost, nobody can directly clone your phone to another one even if they have the password. They would have to do a complicated work-around. They would not be able to make Blackberry software purchases with another phone using your account. The phone and account are locked together.

You can only change the ID by doing a wipe on the phone. Then you must re-install the the OS (operating system). You will not be able to take back the old data from the Blackberry Desktop Link backup software that was entered on the phone with the old ID. If you do so, the old ID will come back.

Use the Blackberry Desktop Link software to re-install the OS. Then you can re-enter all the contacts, and schedules.

Before wiping the phone, you can sync the phone with Hotmail, or sync it with MS Office Outlook. If you are going to change the ID don't bother to make a backup image of the phone.

Once you re-install the OS you can now make a new ID and new ID password. Then you can let the phone re-sync with Hotmail, or you can bring back the contacts and scheduling by syncing the phone back from MS Outlook.

One thing about Blackberry.... If you ever forget your password for the phone there is no back door. Once the password has been wrongly entered more than the allowable amount the phone is wiped and locked out. The process to make the phone work again is fairly involved and a regular user would have to use Blackberry tech support services to make the phone work again. In this case they would have to prove they own the phone, and have a working provider account for it.

I need to activate my Motorola sliver

The Motorola SLVR is a handset that focuses on media offerings, being one of the few non-Apple phones that features iTunes support. Although the Motorola SLVR has been available on GSM networks in the past, it is only sold through CDMA networks, such as Sprint PCS, US Cellular and Cricket Wireless. Unlike GSM phones, CDMA phones don't require unlock codes to take them to other networks. Instead, unlocking a CDMA phone involves removing the old software and installing software for its new network. The removal of the old software and installation of the new software is called flashing.
    • 1 Browse your new mobile company's store finder for a store in your area that performs handset flashing services.
    • 2 Take your Motorola SLVR into the store you located in Step 1. Explain that you currently use another mobile company but would like to switch to their mobile company. Allow the representative to install the new software onto the Motorola SLVR and then activate the phone to their network.
    • 3 Pay the fees the new mobile company charges for activating and flashing services. Pricing can vary depending on the mobile company.
    • 4 Contact your old mobile company to cancel your service contract. Be prepared to pay any fees associated with early cancellation or past-due accounts.

I just purchased a slim caller id phone. The caller id is not working. The phone company advised that the service is connected.

If the phone company has got everything in place, it means the driver ic that controls the LCD is defective. Since it is new I recommend taking back for exchange.

No caller ID. TP company says I have service.

  • Did you fully charge your phone? - Make sure you fully charge for 16-24 hours .

  • Is the battery old? - Replace the battery.

  • Is the electrical outlet switch turned on? - If you are using AC (electrical) power, make sure that the unit is connected to a non-switched electrical outlet.

  • Are the connecting wires tight - Unplug the AC power converter from the unit and plug it back in.

  • Do you have Caller ID service with your telephone company - In order to receive Caller ID records, you must subscribe to the standard name and number Caller ID service available through your local telephone company. If the Caller ID works for normal calls but not on Call waiting calls, then you must contact your phone company to get the combined CID/CW service.

  • Caller ID shows up after second ring - Be sure to wait until the second ring before answering. Caller ID signals comes through after the first ring, if caller pick ups phone too soon Caller ID signal will not be transmitted to the handset.

  • Confirm that caller ID is still working on that particular line by checking another phone on the same line - If Caller ID is not coming through contact your phone company provider.

If this does not fix your problem, contact your authorized Service Center.*

Can't display caller id info

Does CID work on ANY phone in the system? The reason I ask is because prior to issue 7, a Caller ID card had to be inserted into the trunk card. If yours is older, it may not have the card.

Caller ID doesn't display and phone rings 1 time then stops

The Uniden TRU9XXX series has a high level of handset compatibility between bases. Depending on the handsets you bought to go with your 9480, you may be able to buy another model in the series and use the old handsets with the new model. Alternatively, you could buy another 9480 here (the -2 on the end of your model number just means that it came with an extra handset).

Before you do that, though, it might pay to hook up a regular (corded) caller ID-enabled phone to the line and see what happens there when you call. If it works properly, go buy your new phone. However, if you see the same behavior there as with the Uniden, chances are that the problem is not with the phones. Possible other causes could include a fax machine, modem, or other device in-line with the phone; a defective piece of equipment hooked up elsewhere in your house; etc. If nothing obvious applies, you might want to give the phone company another call--just because they couldn't find a problem on their end doesn't mean one doesn't exist.
