Eight blinks - Problem with the audio (AUDIO), unit goes to standby and blinks the self-diagnosis code. Check IC406 audio amp, PS401, and 402. On some newer models of Sony TV sets, this code means that T8005 is defective on the D board. If your not a tech and have no solid state repair experience, play it safe and call out a pro to assist you in this type of repair.

Try to turn on, it turns off right away and the stand by light flashes 6 times

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Standby/Timer light blinking 6 Times means no Horizontal (H STOP), no raster, and so the set goes to the blinking self-diagnosis function immediately. You’ll need to open the back off the TV and check C515 & 516 and the jungle IC, IC206. Also check +5 line is overloaded (A, B boards), +5 line is shorted (A, B boards). Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

6 bliks on sony kp-46wt510

KP46WT510 Shutdown 6 Blinks. 6 Blinks = Low B+ OCP/OVP
SOLUTION: Replaced Flyback transformer. It had no rings on the ringer test.
HQ
Comments: Any load on the B+ line can cause 6 Blinks.
Example: If the 200v line is loaded down will cause a drop in B+ due to bright picture current demand.
