Check your manual for the Driver type. If it is the common AC97 - then is is available for free download - just Google for it. Also the Motherboard or utilities disk that came with the computer should have it. Alternatively contact Sony Tech Supp Team.

I don't have any sound on my computer's internal speakers or my headphones after installing windows 7 pro on my averatec a2 all in one pc, can anyone help me?

You probably just need to install some fresh RealTek drivers. Normally, Windows Update should address this problem but if it doesn't then you can find the drivers you need here:

http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/

And choose the High Definition Audio drivers for 64 bits Windows 7.

Anyone know how to enable a microphone on Dell

I would try going to Start, Accessories, Entertainment, and opening the Sound Recorder. Try doing a test record and see if it moves, or plays back what you record. If not, click on Edit at the top of the sound recorder, and go down to audio properties. You should see a sound recording section in the middle. Click volume, make sure microphone is selected, and the volume is up. If this doesn't fix it, try reloading your audio driver for your model of computer. You can download dell drivers from support.dell.com

Computer crashed and recovered but no sound after

Computers have a mind of their own at times. Here's what happened to me a few years back: I had the same kind of problem and finally figured out that windows automatically configured my system differently because there was a problem. The way I solved it was to put the sound card into a different slot and reboot. That may or may not help you further, but to know that your PC probably automatically changed its configuration might help you to solve it.

No sound device

It sounds (no pun intended) like the drivers for the audio device didn't install. That's NOT uncommon with Gateway Restore CDs. I would advise checking the Device Manager (I can tell u how 2 get there, if u don't know) for any yellow exclamation points. If you see one, right-click it and then click Uninstall. Reboot the PC and you should see a dialog about new hardware found. If you have the Drivers CD that came with your PC (most of the time, anyway), stick it in the CD/DVD drive. When Windows tries to find drivers it *should* look to the CD.

If that doesn't work, let me know and we'll go from there.
Unless this fixes your problem, please don't rate my answer. I have other steps to assist -- and "thanks for trying" is not my goal.
