When I turn the player on, the "ilo" logo appears, but it doesn't go away and stays there forever. It doesn't change to "searching files" like it should. I can still plug it in to the computer, and it still shows the files...I did this after it was on all night so I thought it might overheated...but I left it off for a few hours...and it still does the same thing. Anyone know what might be wrong? I also tried taking off the battery and placing a new one...however, I found out that that's actually the only way to turn it off now....
I had this same problem. However, when I called the mfg. they were closed. I set my player, without the battery installed, aside and called again first thing Monday morning. While I was on hold. I placed the battery back in the player and plugged the player into the computer. WaLa! it came on!! I stayed on hold for 20 min. (Monday a.m. is their busiest time, try Tues.!)The very nice c/s rep. told me that leaving the battery out for 40+ minuets will reset the player. If for some reason this does not work for you, they will email you the firm ware to reinstall in your player. 1-254-224-0222 customer service.

I'm having the exact same problem with this player. I noticed a problem with the player a few days prior to it freezing up. The player would constantly cycle through the "searching" and "sorting" files process but would not complete it. Now it does nothing put display the ilo logo. After reading other reviews on this site I have decided to see if Walmart will take it back. I highly advise anyone who thinks about buying this product not to do so. It may seem like a bargain in the beginning but it is throwing money away.My player worked for less than 2 months.

Problem solved. I called the number on the manual, like the other guy did and answered a few questions and gave me the firmware by e-mail and it worked. So far, to say the least.
