Benq camera . Zoom out of the camera no longer operate and emits sound as if there is something aperture of the lens ..... Please reply disadvantage , and how to fix it

Hi Beshoui,
I believe your zoom lens is not extending when you power on. In most cases like this, there is likely a foreign body (sand) or similar objects lodged between the lens tubes or the camera has been subjected to a knock (dropped, bumped against a solid surface) that caused the lens tube to miss-align. All you need to do is:
1. as you switch on the camera, give a little knock/ tapping with your fingers around the lens.
2. if that fails, apply a little pressure to the sides of the lens ring while powering on your camera.

Lets hope that will help to dislodge the foreign body or the lens tube miss-alignment.

Zoom error Fuji S1000fd

I have seen instances where people managed to get this problem fixed themselves. the zoom mechanism, it seems, is not all that complex. If you think you've got nothing to lose (there is a risk factor) just take it apart and have a look. Good luck!

Lense when turned on goes out, but does not come back when turned off. ...stays in "out " position

The fault of a lens error be it in the shutter, zoom or auto focus is due to failure of the lens control system or the drive. A simple was is to reset and we can try by removing the battery and card for some time. Now replace only the battery and while switching power ON, tap the lens hood on the palm of your hands so as to disengage any dirt or mechanism being struck.
Use some air to blow between the lens to dislodge any sand particles struck inside. Unless you are familiar with handling of small devices must the camera be opened. If so check the voltage on the motor drive, check the auto focus and Zoom drives, it must be free with manual movement. If jammed the motor can be removed and realased. If none of these works then you can think of taking consensus with the service centre.
Get estimate before you decide. It will be good to have it checked at the authorised service as you do not have to run around for spares.

This lens error is due to failure of the ZOOM lens control system if the rest of the camera works well. You can remove battery and card replace battery and while switching on tap the lens hood on your hands so as to disengage any dirt or mechanism being struck.

The 18-70mm lens on my Nikon D70 is stuck on zoom. I can't take it back in to take a wider shot. I haven't dropped it or damaged it in any way. Any suggestions?

take the lens off the camera, try to change the zoom on the lens. if it works then your lens is ok. on the front lens mount surface of your d70 there is a small "driver" connection, it is in the lower left of the metal surface . this connects to the socket on the lens when the lens is mounted. by the way, your lens doesn't have this though. if your lens moves then your camera body is the problem. your lens is electrically operated for focus only, it is manually zoomed. if you can't zoom it by hand when removed than your lens is probably broken, many of the parts inside these lenses are quite delicate and won't take much of a bump on the front end to break the inside parts, i know, i have broken a few..hope this helps.

Olympus FE-340 camera i turn on the power the lens goes in and out 2 or 3 times and the view is blurry in the view finder. The zoom feature has no effect when pushed to the wide setting and will turn off...

your lens may be damaged...your zoom assignments may need to be realligned if there are no broken parts. If there are broken parts in your lens it may be better to get a new lens

S800 powers on and goes off, lens stuck zoomed out.

i had the same problem with my samsung s800 camera (from new!!!) draining batteries quickly and then being left with the lense out, i took the camera back to where i got it from (argos) and after being asked if i was sure i was putting charged batteries in they sent it away for repair and it turned out that the lense mechanism was broken, i think they charged me £10 to get it fixed but i have had no problems since then.

Zoom Error

I think a grain of sand was blocking the zoom tubes. This will not work if the camera has been dropped & the zoom apparatus is bent. It is entirely at your own risk & may invalidate any guarantee but they may charge anyway if you have got sand in. I cut a finger of 80gm computer paper 1cm X 5cm. Inserted this first  around outer zoom tube & worked it all around. It goes in quite deep so be gentle. I switched on to open zoom & tipped out batteries before it had time to close & repeated procedure. When I put batteries back in it worked OK. I repeated procedure with lens fully extended. I found a thin bit of plastic packing worked better as it did not kink so easily. It is still working today having failed 100% before.

Zoom will not retract

Dear Grammie,

You have either experienced a lens error or your zoom dial is broken (both usually caused by some sort of impact damage, but which can be spontaneously occuring).

Look for an error message on your camera's LCD screen such as "E18," or "lens error restart camera." If you do not see a lens error but simply cannot retract your zom lens (go into wide angle mode) via the zoom lever then it simply maybe a broken command dial. Either way, however, you will need to have the camera serviced in all likelihood. Call tech support at 1-800-828-4040 M-F from 8 am to 12 midnight EST and Saturdays until 8 pm EST. Hope this helps.

Sincerely,

Putting Lens Back on

How far apart are you? I mean it all goes back together in reverse order. If the lens is disassembled, you need to get the outer lens tube back on its tracks in the inner tube. That takes a little working, but it should be doable. You should be able to turn the small gear that is on the lens assembly and be able to extend the zoom lens, itll be tough, but if you cant, then the camera will probably not be able to do it either, look for something off track.
