I have fixed this, and I hate this player, however this is the solution

I've uploaded ALL YOU'LL EVER NEED on this rapidshare link, I format my player and bringit back to life with only this...

1.- unrar to the player
2.- try if it works, if not go to 2.1
2.1.- install the software, included in the rar file, then try if it works it should

IMPORTANT: when you have manage to make it work do this, it will save you a lot of time

1.- browse your player to the system/data folder and backup those files, if you get any future troubles (like no music found, strange characters instead of artist's list) replace those files with your backup, backup those files always after adding new music!!!

2.- save the rar file I've uploaded, if you have the wmp plugin already installed and you get the "Oh dear this hard disk doesn't work" message again, just format the player, and put every single file from the rar to the player

3.- excuse my english...
any further problems --> msn: [email protected]

4.- help other virgin 5gb users

Look I am sorry but there is no real way to get it back... you have overwritten all the data on that hard drive... and replaced it with the recovery software, you are only ment to do this if you have a totally unrecoverable error. I guess you will have to take this as a learning experience... I have had some clients actually in tears after thay have tottally trashed thier Business Computer and ALL that it contained.Oh sure you could send it away and pay a gizillion dollars and they may be able to get back like 40% but realistically it simply isn't recoverable. One can get back data maybe, but if it has been overwritten as in your case old & new data will be mixed up, in a real pickle. So as I said sorry but looks like you are going to have to start all again...we all live and learn.

My thing is telling me boot error please format unit

Support for M4008 on this site:

Next site says more about how to format the player:
Before formatting back up the data from the player to your computer.

After performing format you'll need the Firmware Utility to put new
firmware on the player again:
1. Save the execute file Firmware Utility to your computer.
2. Run the execute file by clicking.

can u be more specific and tell me wht software u used to encrypt these files.

How ever try this.

Re-install tht encryption software, as encryption file which that software has stored details are saved in the local hard disk, so once u get it installed u can decrypt it easily.

This may not work if u have recently formatted ur PC OS .

Hope it helps u

E boot.bpb launching problem

I believe it should go into the game150 folder. Otherwise you may have made an error in the backup process. Download unlimited, properly formatted games for psp at they also have game backup software. Support Rich
