Need to set the timer properly. No instructions to follow. Want lights to come on at 6PM and off at 6AM. the timer has red and black pegs on the timer, HEL:P

Experiment with the timer.
Hook up the lights and timer. And read resource link below.
Put the trippers on the dial. Put red at 6pm and black at 6am.
Then manually rotate the dial two revolutions.
Turn the override knob to different setting, and then manually rotate the dial two revolutions.
Watch what the lights do as you rotate timer dial.
Then rotate dial two revolutions until current time lines up with stationary arrowhead located on inner dial.
The clock motor located inside timer rotates the dial, and trippers move small switch that turns lights on-and-off.

I do not know how to set timer have tork 1011 24 hour timer

Open following link to identify timer, with information for trippers and replacement clock motor:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Tork-timers-and-manuals.html#1101

The clock motor rotates analog timer dial clockwise as time passes.
Trippers on the dial move lever that rotates a cam that opens and closes electric circuit.
To set current time, manually rotate timer dial until current time lines up with the word Timer located near the 5 o'clock position.
If the dial is not rotating oe keeping good time, then clock motor is bad.
If trippers don't move the lever, then trippers are worn down.

How do I set my Hager timer EH711 to on at 7pm and off at 7am

Resourceful do-it-yourselfer will find following information helpful for solving problem.
Max Load 1000Watts incandescent
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-program-Hagar-timer.html#700-series
Manual uses several languages including English
http://waterheatertimer.org/pdf/Hager-EH711-Timer.pdf

Hagar 700 series analog timer has mechanical dial that rotates as time passes.
Segments located on outer edge of dial are moved down-and-out, or up-and-inward to set on-off times.
As dial rotates, segments move lever that turns Load on-off.

With segment timers, all consecutive segments between on and off times have to be pushed in place.
Since EH700 series timer has NO NC terminals, segment position is determined by how timer was wired.
This is because segments-in and segments-out turn different terminals ON.

As a result, the best way to set this timer is to push 10 consecutive segments down-and-out.
Leave rest of segments up-and-inward.
Then manually rotate timer dial to watch when Load turns on-off.

Hagar analog timers also have a switch located in bottom right.
This is the manual override switch.
Set switch in position "I" and then rotate timer dial to watch when Load turns of-off.
Set switch in position "O" and then rotate timer dial again to watch when Load turns of-off.

Manually rotating dial and experimenting with segments and switch will tell resourceful do-it-yourselfer exactly how to set timer.
Once segments and switch are set, then rotate timer hands until current time shows on analog dial face.

Which is the on position?

You posted under Woods 59382
Open following link to identify timer for sure and download manual
http://waterheatertimer.org/Woods-timers-and-manuals.html#1702

To check switch setting and segment settings, plug timer into outlet, turn lamp on, plug lamp into timer, then manually rotate timer dial clockwise to check operation.
Change the switch, and rotate dial again to see when lamp turns on-off.
After segments and switch are set how you want, then rotate dial until current time lines up with arrowhead located on inner dial.

Analog timers like 59382 have small motor that rotates clock dial just like old fashioned clock.
As dial rotates, segments on dial move lever that opens and closes circuit to lamp.
The switch, or override button, lets you choose if you want timer program to operate, or if you want lamp ON all the time.

I hooked up a new T104 timer and the manual works but its not clicking on and off when it is supposed to or at all. are you suppposed to have the turn dial in a certain position or what

1) The dial should rotate as time passes.
Set trippers on dial at times you want timer to turn on-off.
To set current time: Pull out yellow dial and rotate dial until current time lines up with silver pointer located at 6 o'clock position.

2) If manual override turns Load on-off but dial doesn't rotate continuously, then you have incorrect wiring.
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-wire-T104-Intermatic-timer.html
Most common mistake is confusing Load wires (wires going to light, fan, motor, pump) with Line wires coming from breaker box.

3) Another possibility is that you have wrong timer: T104 has 240V clock motor.
If your circuit has 120V instead of 240, then clock motor will not rotate dial.
You might need to exchange timer for T101 or T103 timer (see wiring for these timers on link above)

4) How box timers work.
Clock motor rotates dial.
Trippers on dial push lever back and forth.
Lever moves copper contacts that open and close circuit

My water heater needed to be restarted and my comfort recirculation system isn't working now.I"m hoping it is just the timer. I need to reset the timer and I don't know how. I can't find my manual....

Grundfos timer and pump operate by plugging into ordinary 120V outlet.

1) If outlet has power, then dial on timer should rotate.
If dial is not rotating, then check power to outlet.

2) If outlet has power, but timer is not rotating then timer has gone bad > if grundfos pump is working but timer is not working, you can buy cheap plug-in timer and use that as the timer.

3) If outlet has power and pump is not working, then manually rotate timer dial to see if pump will start.
If pump will not start, then you need a new grundfos.
There are no repair parts for these pumps, and nobody at Fixya has reported taking Grundfos apart and repairing it.
My Grundfos pump will not come apart.

4) Following link has links to Grundfos installation manual, website, product manuals, and contact.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Water-heater-recirculation-system.html#Grundfos

5) To set timer: Grundfos timer dial has movable pins that are used to set on-off times.
When pins are pushed out, timer turns pump ON.

6) Rotate timer dial clockwise until current time lines up with arrowhead located on inner dial.
Dial rotates as time passes, and pins move a lever that turns pump on-off.

How do I work this timer? Model 59200. Does it work on any kind of lamp? Do I turn the lamp on? Tried it and didn't work, never turned the lamp off. Manual sheet not much help. Thanks for more info. Rita

Open following link to identify timer and see manual plus written programming steps:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Woods-timers-and-manuals.html#59200

Lamp must be turned ON, and Bulb is good.
Raise and lower a few segments on the timer.
Plug timer into wall, and plug lamp into timer.
Manually rotate timer dial clockwise to watch lamp turn on-off.
Notice also that timer has switch located on top.
Move switch into one position and manually rotate dial again.
Move switch to other position and manually rotate dial again.
This will tell you how to set timer switch and segments.
To set current time, rotate dial until current time lines up with arrowhead located on inner dial.
Dial rotates as time passes, and segments click a switch back and forth that turns circuit on-off.

How do you program the 15119 timer? I have the tabs "up" for the times that I want the timer off and it is not working. The switch is set to "timer on". It does work when in the...

I was looking at GE timers at Home Depot tonight.
Timer ON is correct setting.
Segments up should be lights off.
You lights turn ON with outlet on, so lamp, bulb and electricity are good.

Troubleshoot your timer:
What happens when you manually rotate the dial clockwise?
Do lights turn on and off at scheduled times?
Move override switch both directions and rotate dial manually with switch in each position.
Are the segments pulled all the way up?
If lights do not respond when dial is rotated manually, and segments are all the way up, then timer is broken.
If lights turn on-off with manual rotation, then check if clock motor is rotating dial.
If dial is not rotating, then timer is broken.

The way these timers work is this:
Timer clock with plastic gears rotates dial.
Dial rotates as time passes.
Plastic arm rides along outside edge of segments. See photo below.
When segment is pulled up, plastic arm clicks inward via spring action.
The moving arm opens electrical contacts that turn lights OFF.
If dial is not rotating, or the spring is worn out, or the plastic arm broken off, or the contacts fused together, or override wire is disconnected, then timer is broken.

I test these timers.
4-6% arrive defective, and most last 1 or 2 seasons and then they break.
But they are priced low and easily replaced.

I having troble with my t103 timer to turn the lights on manualy i try to set the timer but for some reason doesn't work what can i do ???

T103 Intermatic timer has 120Volt clock motor and can control 120V or 240V Loads.
Wiring for timer is shown on following link:
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-wire-T104-Intermatic-timer.html#T103

Troubleshoot T103:
1) Manual override is working correctly, and it snaps crisp and clean, and Load turns on-and-off.
That means timer is basically good.

2) Next look to see if yellow dial is rotating.
If dial is not rotating, then 120Volt clock motor needs to be replaced.
Take photo of wiring and mark wires before starting.
Remove two white wires connected to screw terminals 1 and A.
Snap timer mechanism out of box, clock motor is on back of timer.
Use small star screwdriver to remove old clock motor.
Reattach white wires on terminals 1 and A, tighten screws very tight.
Reset current time: lift and rotate dial until current time lines up with silver pointer.
Grainger sells 125V clock motor:
http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/INTERMATIC-Time-Clock-Motor-1PNK1?Pid=search

3) If dial is rotating, but gets stuck at certain times, or runs slow, then replace clock motor.

4) If dial is rotating, and trippers are attached to dial, but timer does not turn ON, then trippers are worn down and need to be replaced.
Grainger sells the T103 trippers
http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/INTERMATIC-Timer-Tripper-2E054?Pid=search

5) How Intermatic mechanical timers work:
Dial with ON-OFF trippers is rotated by clock motor.
Trippers on dial contact ON-OFF lever.
ON tripper pushes lever one direction.
OFF tripper pushes lever opposite direction.
Lever moves electrical contacts on back of timer that turn Load ON-OFF.
Manual override lever clicks back and forth with each ON-OFF action.
