Question about Panasonic NV-MX500B Mini DV Digital Camcorder
I'm currently trying to get 2 Panasonic NV-MX500 camcorders to work but they're both showing everything in blue (both on the LCD and through the viewfinder) when recording. When this footage is played back it's also blue, but older footage recorded before this problem is still in perfect colour. I've tried changing all the colour settings but to no avail. I can't find anything on this in the user manuals. Have I got the settings wrong or does something need to be repaired? Thanks Tim
It's the 3 CCD sensors. VERY expensive repair. Should you be interested, I have for sale my nv-x500: had the same problems and had ALL 3 ccd sensors replaced with ne ones and recalibrated by Panasonic. Never used since, as the camera fuse on the main PCB got broken soon after. The 3 ccds are brand NEW, I sell the camera as for parts for 100 euros with 2 batteries like new, battery charger and all original accessories and manuals, Cheers

Hi, I recently had he same problem, you need to have the unit repaired, it is a small but extremely expensive part that has broken. If my recollection serves me right, it's the colour sensor. There are three that combine the colours to give natural colour. My repairer stated that vibration caused the problems to my camera. Good luck.

My viewfinder went blue then black. I notice that in Singapore Panasonic recognises a known fault with this model and replaces the ccd free. I am not sure whether this is the case in the UK
My panasonic nv-mx500 camcorder having a fault with color in tft and view finder. everything is displayed as blue, red and green patches
I have got the same poblem with my NV-MX500.
Red and blue stripes appear from the right side of the display.
Does anybody know the reason.
Is one of the CCDs defect?
How much does it cost to repair it.
Have a very bad whine while filming or play back turned sound right down to stop noise but after recording there is no sound how can I stop this noise I have gone through most set ups but all to no avail
