Can't plug in the charger.

Hi, can you help? My Sony ericsson is pretty new still and I love it. I went to a festival at the weekend and dropped it in the mud. Everything works fine except the holes forplugging in the charger are caked in mud which is really hard now. I tried to pick it out with a matchstick but then that broke and is stuck too. What can i do? Thanks.

I would try a small drill bit (such as a 2.5mm drill bit) and turn it gently by hand (using only your fingers to turn the drill bit !) - dont use a drill ! - just the bit. I think doing that should pull out most of the mud from the centre of the holes, allowing you to pick out the stuff from the corners...

Try gently dabbing a bit of vegetable oil onto the mud - try and get the mud saturated but dont stick the phone in a bowl of oil. Depending how much clay etc there is in the mud, this should soften it up enough to clean it out. remove the battery before doing any poking around in the hole, and use something a bit stronger than a matchstick (metal is not ideal) hunt for something made of strong plastic. Be patient, you may have to dig it out bit by bit. Hope this helps, if the oil doesn't soften the mud enough then please ask again, there are other more dangerous ways to do it :)
