Magicolor 5430 showing wrong toner levels

I have two of these printers, both of which are less than a couple of months old....the problem I have is that on one it is showing one toner as 100% when I know if fact it is empty....despite changing the cartridge it fails to change this reading....the other one is the opposite....it shows empty...regardless of new cartridge......anyone come across that before?....both on the yellow toner strangely enough. Thanks in advance T0M

thanks for the reply John....but these are indeed genuine replacement toners from Minolta....could the sensor itself have toner on it and require cleaning?

Same problem with 5430DL magenta, seems empty but shows 100%. Only 250 pages printed with the starter toners, seems to be a common problem, no solution yet.

I have two 5430DL printers. One is about two years old, the other is less than a month. I replaced a yellow cartridge that it said had 1% with a new one. The new one reads empty. I removed a used cartridge from the old pne that I new one... same issue. I replaced it in the old printer and it now reads empty... could it have anything to do with changing the cartridges with the printer still powered????

All are genuine toner cartridges direct from Konica Minolta.

Also check that the printer counts printed pages right, because this can be caused by firmware or main board. if new cartridge didn't solve the problem, update firmware.

Are yo using genuine Minolta toner? Some generic toners do not replace the chip on the cartridge which tell the machine the toner levels. If this is not the case let me know. John A.

Am I correct that both machines show wrong readings with the yellow toner? If so I would try starting with another brand new one. I have seen defective cartridges. Also you could try pulling out the cartridge and blowing out that area with some canned air. There is a sensor that reads the toner level but where you are experiencing problems with both machines and the same color I would suspect the cartridge. If this doesn't work let me know!

Magicolor 5430dl, "No Toner Magenta" error

Hi this might work, have you tried to remove the toner and re-seat it??
If this doesnt work very carefully take the toner somewhere well ventelated preferablly outside and give it a good shake for about 15-20 seconds, this frees any clogged toner there may be.

Failing all of that you would want to try outting a new toner in and see what happens.
