Ahh! same thing happened to me during a move. quite frustrating, but a simple fix: remove the plate and look at the underside. here you'll see a ring around it, place the belt around that ring. there are 5 holes total, one small in the center, two larger ones to the side, and two rectangular ones on the edge. as you're putting the plate back onto the player, grab the belt through one of the rectangular holes and place that part of the belt around the cylindrical moving post to the upper left the same time as you put the plate back in place. it sounds confusing, but it's simple, i swear. let me know if i can clarify anything for you.
Ain't the internet great?!
Wow, you made my day! I had the same problem on this exact model I just bought at a yard sale and came to this site to see the original posts and the solutions to getting the belt on. Thanks!!!
Excellent advise Dnorris. Worked a treat and so simple. Just in time for NYE. Nice one.
That's too easy. I was trying for a long time to somehow thread the belt drive through the inward turns but you thread it on the inside of the metal removable turntable itself! Thanks for the post and website.
Well I feel now i just feel stupid. Thanks Dude!
Thanks, same thing happened to me. It was an easy fix.
Thanks so much for the help... I have been searching on how to fix the same problem.. I'm good to go! Thanks!

The belt fell off of my Sony PS-
\lX250H turntable during shipping. How do I replace it? Thanks
I read the solution to put the belt back on and I've put it back on and it stays on when I spin the plate manually but it comes off the second I put a record on. How can I get the belt to stay on? Why does it keep coming off?
Same problem. seems like half of the explanation is being left out here? Anyone with a real solution?
