Question about Mitsubishi VS-6055 60" Rear Projection Television
I have a mitsubishi vs 6051 from december of 94. i recently noticed these problems occuring intemitently now it is constant. ive tried adjust all of the display options such as contrast and the like. i also realigned the test page where you move red and blue crosshairs. i dusted out the inside as well. someone had mentioned about the possibility of magnetized dust causing issues. any help or pointing in the right direction would be great.
What exactly is the problem? There is no such thing as magnetized dust. Your convergence IC's only need to be replaced if you see that the red, green and blue are no longer lining up in the correct positions, especially around the edges. One common Mitsubishi problem in the older sets is CRT coolant leaking and dripping onto the main board. But we need to know exactly what the problem is that you are seeing before we can get more specific.

The problem is definitely in the convergence circuits. There two large ICS located on the convergence board. They both must be replaced. Also they both have current limiting resistors one on +15 volt supply and one on the _-15 volt supply. These must be checked and replaced if found defective. This repair usually runs about $300-400 dollars depending on the area you live in and the level of integrity of the technician. These are good TVs and usually have only a few problems , the convergence and sometimes the power supply. Scrivitron

the exact issue is that white shading appears to the right of objects in semi- bright scenes.its always to the righte. its almost as if someone just took white paint and outlined everything to the right of a darker edge.
