Sandisk Sansa M200 Series MP3 Player

My player will turn on but I can not access the menu. Also it is slow to turn on and turn off. I have changed the battery. It as if the device has frozen and will only turn on and off. Help

  • Brenda Murphy Jul 08, 2007

That link said it will not work with 4.x.xx firmware. Mine is 4.0.44R. Also the instructions said it must be in MSC, but I cannot access MSC because the unit won't do anything except turn on and off. Also, when it is connected to my PC and turned on, "My Computer" does not recognize the connection. I appreciate your effort. Any other thoughts? Thanks. Brenda

How do i play back a recording i've made? I have the Sansa m200 series MP3 Player

To play back a voice recording, you will need to do the following steps after turning on the player. Press Power/Menu briefly to get the software menu. Press the Repeat/A-B/Down button to highlight the line Play Music and press Select to enter the play back sub-menu. Press the Down button again to go to the line Recordings and press Select again. Use the Down button to highlight a particular voice recording and press Select to start playing the recording.

The manual for the Sansa M200 MP3 player is available as a PDF from the manufacturer here: http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/241 . The details for playing back a Voice Recording are on page 23-24 (24-25 of the PDF). You will need Adobe Reader or a similar program to read the manual.

I hope this helps.

Player won't work with vista? can i download software to make it compatible with vista?

Hello,

When you're able to view the menus of the player, look in the manual on page 30 = page 31 of the pdf file for the USB connection mode on your player:
Settings
USB > Auto Detect
> MSC
M200 series manual in pdf format:
http://mp3support.sandisk.com/downloads/um/sansa-m200-um.pdf
With Windows Media Player 11 under Vista, the player should be
recognized as a media device in this Microsoft Media Player. Transfers can be made in MTP mode (Media Transfer Protocol) using WMP 11: USB mode should be in Auto Detect.
In Autodetect mode files on the player can also be viewed in the Explorer mode under My Computer, seeing the player as an external flash drive.
In WMP11 use Library and Sync mode for creating playlists and synchronizing music. More about how to use WMP11, see the help items in the player (click on e.g. Library or Sync etc.) or go to the Microsoft site:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/11/using.mspx

When USB mode is set to MSC mode (Mass Storage Class) the player can only be viewed in the Explorer under My Computer.

Problem

Have you tried removing the battery? Or maybe your battery is low. As well, if your mp3 player isn't turned on when you plug it in, that seems to affect if the computer recognizes it.
