Question about Whirlpool GS5SHAXN Side by Side Refrigerator

1 Answer

Loud Fan Hi everybody, I have the GS5SHAXN for about 1-1/2 years, and so far no problems. However, in the last couple of months, it became very loud. So far, I suspect the fan, because I disconnected for a minute and the noise was not that strong. U can hear only the compressor working. I look all over for it, but I can find it. It's a Bitron Star4 brushless motor. Anybody can give me any ideea where I can find it! Thanks a lot Alex

Hit something I should not have, mower became loud and vibrated. I replaced blade, fan and spacer. Mower cuts well but it still very loud and vibrates badly when in use. Please advise.

Bent blade shaft, very expensive fix, would look for new mower. Have friend this happened too and he used mower for couple more years but his arms felt extremely jittery for hours after use. If you can stand it use as is otherwise very expensive repair.

Spinbrush is very loud, barely sprays, spraks flew out the side. It is only 6 months old.

Hope you kept your receipt! That's a warranty item. Your motor is making the sparks. Go to hoovers website find the nearest service center and take the machine and your receipt to them. You'll get a new motor, installed, at no charge because they have a 1 year warranty.

Bulbs burning out in Hampton Bay ceiling fan

I would suggest getting an electrician to check the current running through the wiring. I had installed a similar fan in my grandmother's house a couple of years ago and had the same problem. After a couple of months of constantly changing bulbs, I brought in an electrician to check the current and found that there was a short in the wire which kept causing just enough of a current surge to blow the bulbs.

Extremely loud fan...shaky picture

I would suggest to replace the fun to keep the light running cooler, the reason you loose the video after a period of time is because the fun is not providing enough cooling.
If the fun is noise it means the bearings inside of it are not working well anymore.
Let me know if you need more help.

Loud Freezer Motor noise

I don't usually buy the service plan but I did for this unit (hey it's gen 1). The service guy said he has seen this problem quite a bit and that LG created a new RCM board to fix it (part# BBR34917104). Apparently the OEM board didn't detect the ice build up on the fan motor very well. I had the new board installed two days ago and defrosted the freezer. So far so good, I'll post again if I have any further issues.

Need help fixing

I had the same problem a couple years ago with mine. After letting it set for several months, I tried to plug it in again after moving into another house. All of a sudden, it started working again. That was 1 year ago, but just last week...it did it again. I noticed that it does this if it is left on for an extended amount of time (my wife goes to bed at night and leaves it on). I cannot find anything on how to fix it, and no warranty assistance from RCA. I'm purchasing a Sony today, but will hold onto the RCA in case it decides to work again.
