Reset BIOS? how to

With both PC and LAPTOP Motherboards,Pc Motherboards are easier to Wipe Passwords than laptops because of ease of getting to the Jumper on the motherboard normally by the battery on the motherboard.I would suggest looking online for the motherboard manual which should show you where the bios reset jumper is.Laptops are just the same but a lot harder sometimes to find this jumper. Hope this helps

Acer Aspire m1640 no display.

As far as I know there is no jumper. Look in the BIOS and see if you can point it to PCI or PCI-Ex. Also make sure you have the right memory and its seated. Have you tried a different monitor? These are the things I would look into first.

Unable to remember password for erecovery for Acere Aspire T690

There is usually a 3 pin jumper near a coin type battery. The setting the umper is on know is nrm ( normal ) and the position to move it to is rst or bios or something like that. Putting that jumper on that position will clear out your BIOS and take away passwords ( normally ) there are some who use a jumper specifically for clearing password. This is rare but look in your manual anyhow.
The jumper should be moved for about 30 sec. then put back where it was nrm or it won't boot up. You will now have to set your date and time and any other things you've changed in BIOS. Voila. Remember not to password things again.

Acer extensa 4220 bios password how to remove or reset

Actually you can clear the BIOS password by resetting the CMOS jamper. If you are familiar with CMOS jamper it is easy for you. Open your laptop with the use of screw driver. Once you are already open it locate the CMOS jamper near the CMOS battery at the south bridge of your laptop motherboard. Remove the jamper with in 5 seconds after that reinsert and trun on your laptop.

Where is located jumper clear cmos in acer extensa 5620z?

Try here for info;; http://support.acer.com/acerpanam/manuals/acer/0000/userguides/EX_5620_5610_5220_5210_UG_EN.pdf If the info is not available here, you may have to remove the bios battery which may require disassembly of the notebook.. If this is required, my advice would be to take the notebook to your local repair shop. Disassembly of a notebook is complicated and time consuming and can be fraught with issues. Incorrect disassembly can damage the electronics and render the notebook useless.

Acer travelmate 4230 bios password

This information is intended for experienced users. It is not intended for basic users, hackers, or computer thieves. Please do not try any of following procedures if you are not familiar with computer hardware. I'll not be responsible for the use or misuse of this information, including personal injury, loss of data or hardware damage. So use it at your own risk.
A. By Using the Motherboard Jumper:
In most motherboards CMOS battery is soldered, which makes it difficult to remove the battery. In this case we use another method.
Almost all motherboards contain a jumper that can clear all CMOS settings along with the BIOS password. The location of this jumper varies depending upon the motherboard brand. You should read your motherboard manual to check its location. If you don't have the manual then look for the jumpers near the CMOS battery. Most of the manufacturer label the jumper as CLR, CLEAR, CLEAR CMOS, etc.
When you find the jumper, look carefully. There will be 3 pins and the jumper will be joining the center pin to either left or right pin. What you need to do, is remove the jumper and join the center pin to the opposite pin. e.g. if the jumper joins center pin to left pin, then remove it and join center pin to right pin. Now wait for a few seconds and then again remove the jumper and join the center pin to left pin.
Make sure to turn the PC off before opening the cabinet and resetting the jumper.

B. By Using Software:

I have found that BIOS/CMOS Password Recovery Tool is the most effective.:
BIOS/CMOS Password Recovery Tool is a program that works instantly to remove any lost or forgotten BIOS/CMOS password. Simply boot your PC to DOS and execute the program, and get access to forgotten BIOS/CMOS passwords in just seconds
