That set may have the general delivery mailbox attached to it. The mail box number for the general delivery mailbox is 100. you might try and resetting that mailbox to see if it gives you access.

SOURCE: trouble login won't accept password. new customer.

Trish825, I had an account here at fixya since last year! Suddenly about 3 weeks ago my email address, nickname, and password became invalid when I would attempt a login. Fixya didn't or couldn't restore my old nickname with a new password. Guess it's not in their "to-do" list. Anyway just get a new nickname and new password like I did. Bye for now. 12fixlouie aka louie12fix

We bought a used security system and never got the pin is there any way to bypass the pin

You may be able to remove the battery from the motherboard. That should clear all presets and you'll have to set it up again. The easiest way is to contact the prior owner and ask.

Not having a problem but woundering if Vanguard heaters are made anymore or who makes them or where are they made.

DESA International aka Vanguard and other names has been out of business for about 4 years.
Several previous owners/board members formed a new company FMI LLC and bought many of the heater assets of the bankrupt DESA International. See below

FMI Products, LLC a newly formed LLC announces the purchase of all assets of the FMI contractor business
(fireplace and gas logs) from the bankrupt Estate of Desa of Bowling Green, Kentucky. FMI Products will establish the Santa Ana location as its new corporate headquarters which houses a 150,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility.

The new company also includes a 106,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Russellville, Alabama. This operation will house the customer service and technical service support groups, in addition to manufacturing and distribution.

Mark Klein President & CEO of the new company states "we are excited about this new company and are confident that

with the expertise of the management and the dedicated employees we have been able to maintain,

we will be able to grow the company and become a significant force within our industry."

FMI Products uses various brand names such as FMI, Vantage Hearth, Design Dynamics, Comfort Flame, Hearthside Designs and numerous others.

Every thing built since March 23, 2009 carry a full warranty from FMI products.

All the product built prior to March 23, 2009 Carry a Desa warranty and

Desa is bankrupt and is not around to validate any warranty on the products they built. Carefully check all the "DEALS" that are out there!

Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

CFM electric fireplace (Charmglow) won't turn back on

Certainly ask a local electrician to take a look. Some electricians have a call-out charge and some don't so it is worth looking in your local directory and making a few calls. It would seriously take the good fortune from the fault being just a simple one if a hefty call-out charge was added.

Your friends and neighbours might be able to recommend someone.

Your post indicates the fire isn't very old. You presumably didn't buy it direct from the now-bankrupt company, but like most people you probably bought it from a retailer? The fact there is a guarantee the company can no longer honour is rather meaningless when your contract wasn't with the manufacturer but with the retailer.
When a person buys something a contract is made. In return for some money the retailer agrees to supply you with a fire that must be of merchantable quality. If it has worked for only a month it clearly wasn't of merchantable quality and the retailer should take responsibility for fixing it or replacing it.
