My son's playstation 2 (4 years old) starts up, but will not read his games. I have cleaned ALL his games, tried them several times, reset the system, deleted some old saved games. The only thing it does is go directly to the browser. Upon deeper inspections it does not appear that the "turn table" lack of a better word is spinning. Unfortunetly he keeps the playstation on forgetting to shut it off.
You can contact manufacture for a cd driver replacement. This will take care of your problem.

Try coating the laser lens with egg white, this diffracts the laser light which will pick up lost information due to a weakened/damaged laser.

The games are fine it is the system. it needs a cleaning. if it trys to read it it needs to be cleaned. if it trys to read it and it says error/ cannot read then the laser needs to be adjusted. if it just does not do anything, you need your laser replaced. send it in to a game system repair center. connie
